Speakers

Thanks for the help and insight so far.

I've been looking at several different speakers, but from what I've seen recommended on this site, I think I'll save up and get CDTs. I found on one site that my Tacoma is sized for 6 3/4" speakers with a depth of 2 3/16" - but I have not pulled my door apart and confirmed. Does anyone have experience with this truck?

From what I've searched, not many speakers are an easy fit into this vehicle. If I'm putting in new speakers, is plexiglass the best mtl to make templates out of?

almost every tacoma i have installed speakers on, i have had to dremel out the plastic in the factory speaker mount hole in order to fit aftermarket speakers in there. the only exception is when installing a speaker that isn't as deep, such as a pioneer or verge. many of the more expensive and higher quality speakers will require minor modifications to fit in your truck. the back speakers are not as bad, though they might require some minor cutting.

we normally use MDF for baffles and mounting plates....
