RE XXX or Adire Brahmas THINK

Hey guys I just wanted your opinions on which brand. I've heard the RE XXX's b4 and their awesome. Im considering going with either 2 XXX 15"s or 18", or going with 2 Adire Brahma 15"s.

This wont be for a while, but those are the 2 brands im seriously considering. Obviously this is for a competition SPL setup.

Suggestions? Any experience with RE XXX or Brahma's b4? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

fellas,

i've never heard either of them. i live in louisville, ky, and there are typically only well known brands around here, except for the mom and pop shops. the best brand for subs available in louisville is probably JL Audio W7's. how do the subs you speak of compare to the W7??

they're both supposed to keep up with the W7 same with the IDMAX. RE XXX and Adire Brahma are fairly new. The're mostly sold online but have a few stores around. I dont know RE's site but adires is adireaudio.com. Take a look at them there both great subs from what i hear and i know the brahmas are great. Its not as good as the W7 (in my opinion) but its up there.

i heard a 12 inch alpine Type-X a few days ago with a 1000 watt alpine mono amp on it, and it was ridiculous. i actually think it was louder than the W7, but it could have been because it was in an SUV. i wish i could hear those brahma's, though, they sound like that knock.

Ive personally heard a truck that had 8 12" Resonate Engineering XXX's in it. Crazy SPL the doors were moving about an inch when the bass hit.

XXX's and the Brahmas are up there in competition with the JL audio w7.

ive been to both the websites, and i know many different people around different forums who swear by the brahmas,,and the XXX's alike. Just trying to pick which one i want to go with is tricky lol. I know a shop was trying to sell me some XXX's for 700 each for a 12". But i can get them direct for less than 500..i think the 18" is around 500 direct from the factory.

www.REaudio.com is Resonant Engineering webite

www.AdireAudio.com for the bahmas.

I thought about JL audio's w7 but i want to be a bit different, not to mension their more spendy because of the name, that and i havnt seen a 15" version of the w7, Not sure if it exists.

good point about being different. and no, JL does not carry a 15 inch W7. the W7's largest size is a 13 1/2 inch sub. kinda weird huh?? but yeah, the W7's are ridiculously expensive.

have you thought about the Alpine Type-X?? good subs. you can get them for like 350 or something like that if you look on the net. 1000 RMS, CRAZY loud, and attractive too. plus, alpine rocks the house.

finally, Eclipse Titanium subs are ridiculously loud, too.

but hey, if you're down to the 2 subs you mentioned, rock on brother.

Hmm goodpoint..i have thought about the Alpine type X just havnt heart it yet. That and im really considering either going with a 15" or an 18" woofer. Ill have to kep that type X in mind tho, they look wicked on the website i was checking them out a couple days ago =)

My buddy does have Eclipse Aluminum 10's and they pound also, But to be honest..i think im down to either the XXX's or the Brahmas. But then again ive got time b4 i purchse either oneso im still looking at other options GRIN

i've heard both the titanium and aluminum by eclipse, and, in my opinion, the titanium is not only louder, but cleaner. it actually has a ping-noise to it, i guess from the titanium hitting??

you know what you are talking about though, so i'm sure whatever you decide on will be the best for you. i myself am an alpine and eclipse junkie myself.

we got a catalog at my work from a company called Rainbow that makes component speakers. yeah, they were only like $8,000, up to $10,000 if you want the good ones. can you believe that?? TEN THOUSAND BUCKS for some speakers!! ludicrous.

i'm gonna go out for a little bit, i'll talk to you guys later.

jumping in a bit late hear but i would have to say the XXX and the brahma are damn close in comparison i would say its a personal preference. i think the XXX is more leaning to the SPL side though. also since its pure spl a 18" sub is going to move more then a 15" sub just physicaly it can push more air. so if its just SPL you want those would probaly be louder then a 15" brahma.

Good luck

Yah thats what im thinking..Im leaning towards the RE XXX 18" 1600watts rms with 32mm of XmaX...thats huge XmaX combined with high power + large surface area = my SPL bliss..but we'll see lol

Have never heard the XXX, but I have heard a Brahma 12 and it was solid, tight and loud as well. Brahmas are more SQL type subs too. The coils can take 1600 RMS, but the Bl is so high on this sub, it can reach X-max much sooner, depending on the enclosure design.

Yah still thinking about it..i bounce back and forth..its allways hard narrowing it down to which brand you want after you've got it between 2 or 3 subs...ive got time to sit and think about it..untill then im just going to re-gut my truck, and sound deaden the interior components themselves because right now their rattling. Not the actual metal but the plastic pieces that make up the internal cabin.
