hi.I HAVE JUST INSTALLED A SONY SX2000 HEAD UNITS ON MY MITSUBISHI CARISMA, I HAD TO CUT WIRE INORDER TO INSTALL THAT HEAD UNIT,BOUGHT HARNESS ADAPTER AND ALL WENT OK EXCEPT............. WHENEVER I SAVE MY RADIOSTATIONS IT GETS SAVED NO PROBLEM BUT WHEN I TURN OFF MY ENGINE AND AFTER A LITTLE TIME I TRY ON MY HEADUNITS ALL MY SAVED CHANNELS ARE GONE!!!!!!!! SO IS THE TIME ON THE CLOCK!!!! IT ALL GOES BACK TO ITS FACTORY SETTINGS.. I TRIED RESETTING AND ALSO CHECKED ALL THE FUSES ALL IS FINE WHAT THE FECK IS HAPPINING??? WHERE ARE ALL MY CHANNELS AND WHY IS IT HAPPENING ?? PLEASE HELP I AM JUST A BEGINER

well i'm a bit confused you say you bought and adaptor but had to cut wires too? that doesnt really make since to me pelase explain..
sounds like your problem is your 12volt constant wire isnt a 12volt constant. you need to find a wire thats 12volt constant and hook this wire up and you well be in buisness.

switch your 12 volt constant and your 12V ignition wire on your harness and see what happens. This is a very common thing where people get the two mixed up and this happens.

those would be the red and yellow wires.

I AM FROM UK .WHAT I MEANT TO SAY WAS JAPANESE CAR DOESNOT MATCH THE HARNESS WITH EUROPEAN ADAPTER SO I HAVE TO CUT ALL THE WIRES THROW AWAY THE JAPANESE JACK, THEN GET A MALE HARNESS FIND OUT WHICH WIRE IS WHICH AND CONNECT THEM AND PLUG IN THE EUROPEAN JACK TO SONY HEADUNIT.MY SONYHEADUNIT IS A EUROPEAN STANDERD BUT MY CAR HAD A JAPANESEHEAD UNIT .ALL THE SPEAKERS WIRE ARE CORRECT BUT THIS BLOODY PROBLEM IS ACHING MY HEAD!!! BY THE WAY WHY AM I ONLY SEING 3 REPLYS WHEN IT ACTUALLY SAYS 6.???

ah i see ya japanese harnesses can cause a head ache... just use the wires ttocs mentioned and you should be good.
i deleted the false posts here so you wont have to scroll threw that anymore.
