Ground is ground, right?

I have 2 Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1 subs (up to 350 wrms each), with an avionixx AXT 800.4, 4 channel amp that, when bridged into 2 channels, puts out 400 wrms per channel at 4 ohms.

I don't get any sound when one of my subs are wired in parallel, but the other one is fine. I asked about this problem before, but I found out that only one of the other channels' ground is bad.

If I have top + - + - and bottom + - + - with the last channel out of these 4 not working, couldn't I just bridge the first sub with the top left + and top right - ; and the second sub with the bottom left + and the top right - , or any other - for that matter?

If you need me to explain further I will. Thanks,
Alan LaMore

As for the last thing I said, I realize that I couldn't just use any ground since if it were connected to the bottom left + and bottom left -, then it wouldn't be bridged.

I guess what I was realy asking was would it still be bridged if hooked up with one sub connected top left + and top right - (the way it's supposed to be), and the other sub connected to the bottom left + top right - ?

If you have one channel gone south, it won't matter where you ground that speaker as noted. You will still have only 3 channels operational. That basically means the bridged channel will net about 60% more output power than the other side that has only 1 channel operating.

Can still use it if the subs are in separate chambers. But if these subs shared a common airspace inside the box, this may become a problem for the lesser powered sub.

well you can try, whats the worst that will happen, you will mess up the amp? I would not do it on a new amp but.......

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes the subs are in separate chambers so I have one being played with 400 WRMS and the other at about half of that. It does sound better than having both with just one channel each (not bridged).

I called avionixx and the call went to someone's personal phone # (I did call late) and the guy told me to send it to them and they'll fix it before I even had a chance to explain the whole problem.

I don't know if I should just send it though since I don't have a receipt and I don't know how I can be sure that they'll send it back to me.

I called one place around where I live and they told me they don't know how different class T subs are so they weren't sure if they could fix it.

Anyone know about sending this amp out? Any good reputations of avionixx?

I'm kinda worried about sending it in the mail. I don't know if I should video tape myself sending it in the mail with a close up on the serial number?????

Thanks,

your sending it to the company that sold it in the first place they have no reason to steal it.... i trust avionixx myself they have always been good to me over email... i would call them during buisness hours and talk to them then... and send it ups and keep all the tracking info. when you mail soemthing to them there well be records you sent it.

as for how differnt a class t is from a class D i would say its problay quite differnt.

hope this helps
