Adding another amp

I have right now 3 12"s and 1 JBL bp300.1. I wanted to add 3 more 12"s and the same amp. If i do this, how will I hook up the amp as in power, remote, ground. Would i just use the same cable or am I gonna have to make another hole through my firewall, and run more cables? Thx

mattering how much current these amps draw 600watts may be too much for your alternator...

also 3 more subs is only 9more db if your this unhappy with yours current set up why not just get 1 or 2 more good subs... how much well 3 more 12" subs and a amp cost you? 200$ you cang et a good set of subs for that or one real good sub that well out perform 6 of these weaker subs...

i have talked to you about this over MSN messenger and i feel like i have hit a wall really. 6 of these low end lightning audio subs is not going to be enarly as good as a single high end sub... and spending the money on 3 more subs and another amp is going to be the same price as getting a single good sub. which well blow the current set up away.

Yep, throwing good resources...(time & $$) into a bad idea.

Ok, the thing is that I really dont wanna take the custom box that my dad made out, And it fits Perfectly, So if I got 3 Higher End Subs, Will my amp handle them?

uochronos on 09/6/2004 12:42:24
not going to be able to find 3 higher end subs that can run off 300watts... howevern can probaly remove the front pannel of the box and replace it making it work for 1 or 2 sub woofers...

trust me though throwing this box out is better then throwing money into a plan thats not going to acomplish what you want... i threw my first 2 set ups away. and i dont just mean subs thats deck, speakers, amp, and sub. because i bought bargain basement ngear i knew nothing about. its hard after you spend the time and money on something to ditch an idea. but its worse to let it get in your way and end up spending twice the money and still not being happy.

I think my subs are good I jus want alittle more bass, im not sayin i would but wut if i get the other amp and run 2 audio bahn off it

2fastxd on 09/6/2004 12:46:42
each one is 400rms each

Sorry guys, I give up on this one. Don't mind helping folks who cooperate and follow a solid plan of action. But when good info falls on deaf ears, I just have to step out of the picture and exit the procces.

Nothing personal against you there 2fast... but it seems that I am not the right person to help you when all this chaos leads nowhere. You're on your own because you won't listen to sound advise. There are three knowledgable people telling the same story, yet still you persist on doing it your own way. OK... go ahead and do so. Again... nothing personal here... just cannot work with folks who don't/won't listen.

Good luck,
Swez

OK, I will not buy another amp, I will not buy any more subs. I Will stick with wut I have right now since I think it has plenty of subs. Thx everyone for help with my current system

2fastxd on 09/6/2004 17:29:39
I mean plenty of Bass

uochronos on 09/6/2004 23:28:55
I think that is probaly for the best as adding more of these same subs is not going to increase this bass much at all. adding another type of sub is going to cause some cancelation probaly and make it more distorted unless designs extremly well. not to mention running 2 400watt rms audio bahns off a 300watt amp is not a good idea at all.

honestly i'm with swez on this one i have spent many hours both here and on MSN messenger trying to guide you and have done nothing but awnser truthfully. and it seems like no matter what i say you have a set plan of attack that you wont vary from. i understand this because its easy to get stuck in not loosing somethign you have spent that much time on... but if your not happy with the set upo as is adding more subs is not going to help you...

if you just want someone to tell you what you wish to hear then by all means goto best buy, circuit city, etc,. they well be more then happy to tell you what ever you want to hear.

this is nothign personal its just getting frustrating to be asked questions then have your advise seemingly ignored i dont wish to end up getting angry so i think its time for me to take my leave of this problem..

good luck on your journy where ever it leads you.

Dear 2fast,

Perhaps you need an explaination here. I AM NOT not down on you as a person who wants to know and grow. I support that very much here at CK. But you must understand that there are limited resources here and many come for help and follow through well, once they get the picture. That is the main objective of this forum.

That's a personal goal I have set for myself on this forum... to be the best resource I can, to those who ask for assitance. However, there comes a point when a busy person has to make a choice... "Am I making an impact on those who come for help" or do I beat my head against a wall, working with those who ask all kinds of questions, but go counter to advise given. Easy answer right?

Seems I'm not the only one with that sort of mentality... Do the most good with those who "GET WITH THE PROGRAM". Having said that, you are certainly free to read, post and just hang out and learn from what others are asking. But I will not particpate in games of cat & mouse where nothing productive is going on either.

Please realize that time is a very valuable commodity. We should not waste it unwisely. We should also not take others help for granted or ask and then not think it through enough to see what we can use from other folks experience and wisdom. That's true learning!

I am being very gentle with you right now as you may need that. However, the world is a very hard place at times. Others may not be so patient or tolerant of wishy-washy behaviour patterns of others. With that, I will close and allow you some time to chew on the whole thing.

Again, am not angry with you or anything like that. However, if you ask for opinions/advise and disregard it... that's a slap in the face to the very ones that are trying to help you.

Now, just chill a few days and think this over. It's a very important lesson you can take with you into all matters of life.

Sincerely,
Swez

PS There are always other forums you can try for information etc. But you are still welcome here... just don't abuse the staff and support team OK? Thanks!

I think you guys need to open your eyes and see what I posted before you go all crazy. I said that I made my mind up on not doing anything else to my system, That I would just keep it for now, cause it aint bad, but no, you keep going and goinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg, ight

2fast,

No offense but you should read your posts, Swez, nor Chronos are have gotten snippy with you. They have handled your questions like adults and have not gotten short with you without provocation. But you have asked to many questions that have been answered over and over. Hypothetical questions only go so far

In your posts, you have made it clear to those of us who take time out of our days to sit down, read ,reply to posts in order to help others, and also learn ourselves, that you do not infact listen to things we recomend.

Not only that, but after we finally sit down and say "ok this person doesnt really value what we have to say, its time to cut our losses and move onto someone who will value and listen to what we have to say". You sit there and get snippy like a child who doesnt get his way. Maybe you should chill back, read things more thourougly before replying to a post when your heated.

Your welcome to stay on this board, but remember, this board is here to help people learn and grow with their experiences. Not here to start little fights and drama. Were still here to help, as long as your here to listen to advice, and learn from others, and give back to the board as a productive member of this forum.

Sincerely,
P0werLifter
