At last success.... After trying every other possible thing that could be giving me this noise, i.e RCA's, grounds, power leads, head unit ground, etc., I tried Swez's last suggestion. It was the easiest and most obvious solution that eluded me to the very end. All I did was turn down the input sensitivity/gain on the amp and WALLAH! NO NOISE! Thanks to all others who replied concerning my noise problem. Rock on...... Montego. Replies (5) ttocs on 09/5/2004 12:20:24 trouble shooting is fun huh? That is the way it works, try this, then this, then this, then.......... swez on 09/5/2004 18:22:11 Very common problem... the HU has a low RCA output voltage. So if the gains are set to say 0.5 volts, the amp will pick up any noise in the chain and multiply that along with the audio signals from the HU. Glad you found the problem! CLAP Troubleshooting is the most challenging part of this game. Especially on our side of the board as we cannot see or hear the problems first-hand. We have to rely on your inputs to make an accurate diagnosis and corrective actions to take... that's a real challenge when dealing with our audience. Swez ttocs on 09/5/2004 22:03:08 I agree, if this vehicle or many of the others were to come into the shop I could probably have you on your way in a few minutes. It is definitly more challenging on here. ttocs on 09/7/2004 22:58:59 ttt swez on 09/8/2004 09:32:37 Bump ^ Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
