goto ebay and look it up i bought one from a guy on ebay his buisness is based on the east coast and alls they do is electrical systems for cars. i got a 200amp alternator for 200$ with a liftime warranty and cheap shipping and i'm very pleased i belive his ebay name ways winktsa or something clsoe to that i well try to locate it for you and post later.

though you may not need a 200 amp alternator how many amps and what wattage do you plan to run. you may be able to go with a smaller alternator whyich would save you money and get the desired result.

As chronos had said, Ebay is a good start,,,,so is summit racing,,they have alternators that are reasonably priced too....

depending on how much wattage your going to be running..a 200amp might be a lil much.

there are a couple articles i the DIY section that cover Power Systems and Charging Systems..check em out that should help you

i plan to run a 1600 watt amp to start i am in the process of buying other equiptment to run 2 15 inch subs with a rms rating of 2000 watts i know they are very high end subs they were used in spl comps a couple years ago for like 15 mins, i am gonna buy them off of a friend for a good price but i also want all the stuff ready for them when ig et them and i am having a hard time finding a amp to run them thanx guys

just so you know 2000watts rms is only 3db more volume then 1000watts rms... this is in audible to the human ear at the volumes we are talking about... a 1600watts rms amp is going to pull around 140-150amp by its self... if you plan to use any other amp for mids or highs and also if you plan to run a bigger subb amp ever then a 200amp alternator might not be large enough... your stock electrical (heater, ac, lights, engine, etc) take around 50amps to run properly... so your amps and 50amps for your stock electricals need to add up to less then your alternators out put.

so if your amp pulls 150amps and your stock electricals are 50amps then your awefull close to pulling too much... really running this much ampage isnt nessicary for a daily driver 1000watts is moer then adequate..

if your building a compitition system then expect tog et a 250amp alternator or so and a couple batteries. also in compitition subs dont tend to last reall long either its very hard on the subs.

i hope this helps put some of this in perspective.
