2 channel vs. 4 channel

Any opinions on this? Im running 4x6 Infiitys in the dash,6x9 Polks in the rear deck. Im running the tweeters up near the visors right off the HU (Pioneer meh4600). In this set up I was running a 4 channel amp(old coustic 4x50) that I've had for 9 years. I experimented with the hp and lp and all that, but I think it sounded best running full range to the front and full range to the 6x9s. (the HU has an FIE that I used) I was pretty happy w/ the sound. Unfortunately the amp S.T.B. and is gone. Fosgate amp running the two tens in the trunk I'm happy with. Should I now look for just for another 4 channel or go with a 2 channel and run the speakers in parallel? If I do go to a 2 channel what do I do w/ the two extra RCA's that I'll have coming from the HU? Also any suggestions on an amp.

Is your HU two or four channel? If it's four, you can run the rear speakers off the HU and amplify just the fronts. (I've never been a big fan of amplified rear speakers. Pulls the sound back too much for me). As for the RCAs, you can simply cap them off (plugs or electrcial tape), if you don't want to dig into the HU to disconnect them there. Good luck.

Oh, as for the amp, nothing wrong with another RF, they're great amps.

i personaly am a fan of amping all speakers. a 2 channel amp well work. but you wont be able to fade which well mean the back speakers well be just as loud as the front and this can sound bad... i suggest a reasonable 4 channel amp... if you want high end there is JL, phoenix gold, ppi, RF, etc. if you just need a decenty amp that well sound good there are many out there for less. for instance this one

its only 109$ and is 75x4 rms good specs on it it is an entry level amp no frills but it well put the power out and sound nice... they also have a 50x4 for 89$ these are onsale for almost half off at www.thezeb.com i suggest checking them out if you want something reasonable that well sound nice.
