Ok this is for anyone that knows anything about MTX subs ... im getting two 15"s and most likely leaning towards MTX .... I have found 2 Thunder5500's for $149 each and 2 Thunder6000's for $99 each. I believe the 6000's are from last years line and the 5500's are from this years line (might be wrong) .. So which ones would work better with my two Kenwood KAC-729s 600w max amp ... the 6000s look more basic and the 5500's look a little more heavy duty. But the prices are pretty different. Let me know guys. Replies (1) swez on 08/30/2004 08:58:33 The power handling on each version noted is the same. The 6000 has a 2" voice coil and good efficiency ratings. The 5500 series is new, has a 1.75" coil and is a few dB more efficient with input power. You may hear a slightly louder sub in the 5500 series... if it is worth the extra $$. With the amps noted, use a single coil SVC 4 ohm version and bridge each amp. One sub per amp will be very good bass. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
