Youre right swez .. just like eating chips .. i got another question

I finally have both Kenwood KAC-729s amps 600watt peak so on so forth...

I had been debating between Kicker comp vrs and MTX thunder 5500's ..... 15"s

Now i am concerned about space, because im going to put them in the back of a '92 honda accord ... So the question is ..

Do 15's hit that much harder than 12's??? Im looking for pure bass here .. something that'll shake the car .. not really as concerned with sound quality as long as it moves some air and shakes some mirrors.

would kicker comp VR 12's sound anywhere near the 15's ... and same question for the MTX Thunder 5500s or 6000's

Sure! A pair of 15" subs has a large cone area. So, they move lots of air due to that extra cone diameter. Also, 15" subs tend to be more efficient than 12" bothers in the same line.

However, new sub technology have figure out how to get more out of a smaller sub via long throw voice coils. Just like a piston in a car, the longer the stroke, the more HP we get from the same size piston area. This is where high SPL systems are going. Fewer drivers, longer throw and more efficient use of incoming power. This is where Adire and others have been on the cutting edge.

Also, the enclosure design has a lot to do with SPL and efficient use of space. The more boom you desire, the larger the box. Kicker's web site has a few good examples of different enclosure designs and how to sqeeze extra SPL out of a given sub. A well designed sub enclosure with 12" subs can easily out perform a poorly designed (not optimized)enclosure using a pair of 15's. The slot-port design is more efficient than a round port in most cases. It can move lots of air through the port at low velocity w/o excess port noise typical in small round ports.

A small port can achieve air velocity greater than 80 MPH. A slotted port will do the same air movement at under 30 MPH. Less resistance (venturie effects) prevents port noise problems.

Very well done swez you don't find many installers that do it for the love of sport rather than the love of the money. Rob your not going to get it any better than that. Now getting a double 15 enclosure big enough for what you want in a honda that's a different story Good luck
