I am not sure how to reply to my own post so I hope this works. I am going to try this again when I get home today. The faceplate cover the radio/heater A/C controls. Replies (6) UKinstaller on 08/25/2004 21:28:41 on every hyundai i have ever worked on, i have had to remove the air conditioning controls down by the gas pedal. if you are able to pull the radio out a little bit and then you can't pull anymore after a couple inches, this is probably the case. how far are you along in the removal of the radio?? -UK uochronos on 08/26/2004 02:39:44 faceplate? is this a stock radio? what do you mean by faceplate? most stock stereos dont have "faceplates" if you are speaking of the trim around the reciover then i suggest looking for any pieces in the vacinaty that may pop out revealing screws. also check on the sides of the center counsole for screws that may release it. also gentle pull at it if it gives a little but just stick then it is probvaly just a pop out section. howvere if is feels like it is atached solidly there is a screw you are missing... to pop loos pannels with pop out tabs i fashioned a pieve of metal that is very thin but very ridgid as well. and cover it with a old rag so it doesnt scratch then carefullly and slowly i work it around the edge. till it comes loose. i hope this helps Munchiesyumm on 08/26/2004 12:01:16 I guess if you really get suck you can refer to this website that has directions and pictures how to take out the stereo's in cars for many different types/brands. The catch is that it's $4.99 to view the directions. It used to be free and I used it all the time! http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremoval.htm 98MustGT on 08/26/2004 13:18:23 I am going to fuss with this more when i get home, thanx so far. ttocs on 08/27/2004 10:04:53 I agree with uk, you might need to make sure and do your research on that car. The ones I remember also had 3 cables for the heater/ac that had to be removed. If you didn't know what you were looking fer it would be expensive......... Go to sounddomain.com and look at the members pages for your car. I wouldn't be suprised if someone has instructions there, or would be able to tell ya.... snipe523 on 08/27/2004 11:35:04 Take a look at www.hmaservice.com Has diagrams of just about every piece of every Hyundai and how to take it apart. Click on Service Info, then WedTech. Inpt your car model on top and go through the lists that pop up. Actually I just took a quick look. After inputting your model, click shop in the tabs at the top. Then Body electrical system, Audio and Antenna, and finally Removal and Instalation. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
