We just installed a 1o inch JL audio subwoofer into my buddys s-10. He has a lanzar-vibe 500 watt subwoofer, and a kenwood receiver. The sub is making a pulsing sound throughout any music that is played. Its at the same volume no matter how much he turns the volume up or down on the reciever. The sound is coming from the sub as long as it has power. It was working fine for days but now this started and i have no clue what is wrong. Al the wiring is brand new fosgate wiring. If anyone has any idea of what is wrong i would be very happy to hear from you. Thanks dude, Paul Replies (4) uochronos on 08/25/2004 02:00:06 sounds like an amp problem here... almost like the on circuitry is charging and discharging over and over. swez on 08/25/2004 09:07:43 Agreed, can you test the sub on a different system and make sure the sub is still OK? The pulses may be caused by something coming out of the amp mentioned. Something at a board level like the power supply filtering caps. Swez Wealot53 on 08/29/2004 01:20:12 I agree thoughI have found more times than one it could be as simple as interference check your ground wire first if it's grounded well try touching a jumper wire from the ground of your patch cable to your ground or running another rca just over the seat to see if it solves your problem.
