Greetings. I've been surfing the Net for a few weeks gathering information to help me decide on a set of 6.5" components for a 2004 Toyota Tacoma 4 door. This sight seems to have good information and better yet, the folks here seem very cool, so I signed up and here I am.... I'll most likely build some kick panels for the set. I know no one can say brand X or Y is best, but what are your opinions of these three that I've kind of narrowed my search to. I'm looking for reliability, quality, frequency range, and more SQ than SPL. 1. CDT-61A, $150 2. Memphis 15-MS6.1, $181 3. ID CXS6 $290 I'll be running them with a 2 x 100 RMS amp. The rest of the system is Kenwood KDC-X579 HU, ID-IDQ10D2v.2 sub, and Kicker Free Air 6.5 midbasses. The sub and MB will run off a Lanzar 418 amp 4 x 100RMS. Any opinions on these three component sets or even others? I'd really like to stay uner $200, but might go higher if there is a significant enough difference. Thanks a bunch! If you demo each one in the same store, that would help a lot to determine which sounds best to you. Personally, I would not shy away from the CDT classic series. The MSRP on them is almost $300.00/pr. Up to your budget and tastes. Swez Geezer on 08/22/2004 13:45:37 Thanks Swez. One of my problems is the lack of shops around me that carry anything other than a handful of "popular" brands. I have finally reached the age were I'm more interested in sound and quality than brand affiliation that I find myself in a shop-online without previewing scenario. Anyway, I appreciate the input. uochronos on 08/22/2004 15:21:08 most shops only sell whats popular or what makes a good profit. its a sad fact... for the price i would honestly go with the CDT's... i dont think you well be disapointed. unfortunatly since they sell direct not alot of places you can hear a set:( cplkittle on 08/22/2004 23:43:13 I have only heard one set of CDT components, and I was pretty impressed. The only set of components that I have heard that sound better are the diamond HEX series components. (MSRP $549) I don't know what they go for on ebay, but if superior quality is what you are looking for, I would look into these. The diamond website (diamondaudio.com) has a dealer location feature.
