I agreed to install a CD player in my friends truck and I also suggested buying a pair of new speakers.
He's looking to spend ~ $200 total... give $50 or so.
I don't know if I should go with - I'm thinking Alpine Type-S on the speaker. The speakers are 6.5"... maybe something price-performance SQL.
I also don't know what HU to go with - price performance is the also the key here... RMS in the low 20's if possible. Possibly the Kenwood KDC-3025.

what does the dash look like? Does that still have the split deck/cassette? I think it does so don't forget $40 in parts for the radio....
