Not because they're the best... but because they're endorsed, or were at one point. What do you want to know about them? sam on 08/17/2004 10:04:44 wiring configurations for a 4 channel amp to run two subs...i also have another pioneer 520 watt which 4 channel which i wana use for the splits and 6 by 9's... what do you think is the best set up in terms of bass??..i really only care about bass swez on 08/17/2004 10:39:03 Before we get too far, tell us the model numbers of subs and amp you are wanting to use. Then we can review the specs and advise the best way to use same. Swez PS MTX has been around a long time and I have had very good results when asking questions on thier products. The parent company is Mitek. asplundher on 08/17/2004 13:12:37 Most of the questions on MTX products are available at www.MTX.com. uochronos on 08/17/2004 16:22:33 ya MTX is a quite old company infact i was just listening to a pair from 1992 the other day a road thunder or blue thunder soemthing like that a set of 8's they boomed good for how old they where P0werLifter on 08/17/2004 19:41:13 MTX has been around for a while. I use to run a two MTX 12" 6000series....They bumped pretty dang good i was allways really happy with them. sam on 08/18/2004 10:33:10 i have two mtx T4500 12 inch subs..theyre 225 rms each 450 max...i have one pioneer gmx 520 watt amp and a RT404 road thunder amp......what do u say boys?? how shud i wire her up? swez on 08/18/2004 11:52:10 The RT404 is a 4 channel amp and can be bridged into 2 channels for more power. The bridged power @ 4 ohms is 150 watts per cannel. One thing, this amp has a low pass filter for the rear channel and only a high pass filter for the front channel. Would have to use a low pass filter (LPF) network at the input side of this amp to make it suitable for sub applications. Here are the specs and a manual to print out if you need it: http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/amplifiers/roadThunder404.cfm The T4500 series woofers comes in 2 flavor. One is a 4+4 Dual coil (DVC) and the other is a single coil, (SVC) 4 ohm coil. If you have the SVC version, 4 ohms, can use these on a bridged amp. If you have the 4+4 DVC model, this sub model will not work on a bridged amp. The ohmic load is too low for the RT404. Which sub version do you have? Here is a data sheet on them as well. http://www.mtx.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/thunder4500.cfm =================================================== The Pioneer GM-X520 must be a pretty old product. It is not listed in the Pioneer web site. May I suggest that you e-mail Tech Support and get the specs and features from them as well. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/contact/us/0,,2076_4351,00.html?fpSiteId=2076 Swez PS It may be best to use one of the 4 channels as your interior speaker amp and get a real sub amp to power your RT4500's. This is especially true if you plan to go to a ported enclosure design. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
