What's your opinion on Volfenhag amps (made by pheonix digital)? Replies (2) uochronos on 08/12/2004 17:19:24 i have noticed volfenhag subs and amps mentions alot lately. i have never had experience with them and cant find a web site for them. but i'm leary of any company called "phoenix digital" "rock wood" etc these companies sound alot like some of the big companies and usualy make cheap knock offs that dont handle what they say they can. as for a specific amp i would need to see the specs on it to tell you. but in general be a bit leary. a good rule is if 70% of amps similar to it are 200$ and this brand has one thats 50$ brand new from authorized dealer.... then soemthing isnt right here... you do pay for what you get. cheap components last half the time as there nicer counterparts. also check what voltage the amp is rated at.. most reputable companies rate theres at 12-14.4 volts other more shady companies well rate them at 16-22volts since your car can never produce that kind of power the rating is really not helpfull. ok well i hope this helps you a bit swez on 08/12/2004 17:50:20 V-hag has been around for a while and most folks I have talked to that have them, say they were OK in the beginning. But after a while, when they hear others gear... the Hags are out and something new comes in. Yes, they are cheaper than the big boyz brands. But the old saying... "Ya get what ya paid for" definitely applies to many of the low end brands. Seriously, save your dough... get some nice stuff the first time out and enjoy it well. It's really worth it to wait until we can afford the better gear. Swez The Math: $150.00 now + 250.00 (upgrade) more later = $400.00 Spent twice on X device or components is not a good math equation in finaces, toys or science.
