I am currently planning out a design for a slot port. What I was wondering was can have an L shape to it right? The reason I ask is because for a Alpine SWR-1241D the slot port dimensoions are 12"x1.5"x28.8" and having 28.8" deep box would be huge and be way over the reccomened 1.75cu/ft. I also don't want to give up that much space. So would having a 90 degree bend be ok? Thanks, Jay Replies (4) LC1 on 08/10/2004 01:30:13 This is what my slot port enclosure design looks like from an overhead view. I just want to make sure I am doing this correctly. _______________________________ LC1 on 08/10/2004 01:31:15 Forget my last post is didnt come up and I didnt save a copy of it. It will take to long to do it again. I think everything should be alright. uochronos on 08/10/2004 02:30:32 the last slot port design i used had more then 1 180 degree ebnd in it.it sort of snaked threw the box... goto www.edesignaudio.com and look at there box designs that well have a picture of what i'm describing. in short though yes a bend is ok swez on 08/10/2004 13:05:04 Yes, you may use a 90 degree bend to allow for proper length of port. Just make sure the port is 1.5" away from the back wall of the box. If less, you may get port noise from excess sound pressure and velosity. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
