I am going help out a buddy of mine save a few bucks by installing a HU into his 1991 Nissan NX 1600. This is my first all out HU install by myself. What I was wondering is has anybody done an install on this type of car before and is there any tips that you could give me?
Also is there anywhere that I could find wiring diagrams for the stock HU so I know what wire is what?

well hopefully the stock wiring harness has not been cut assuming it hasint you just get a wiring harness that plugs into it and the wiring harness well be labeled as to which wire is which. trust me onn this one if the stock wiring plug is still there dont cut it off spend the extra 10$ for a wiring harness to plug in it well save hours of trouble. my first HU install i just cut the harness off took me 3 hours because of the crazy wiring in a '84 thunder bird. my second one only 2 weeks later we got a harness and it took an hour.
also we always suggest grounding to the firewall or any other part of the body instead of using the factory ground as this is not sufficient all the time.
also if you want a schematic of the dash asembly and what not get a chilton or hayns repair manul its a good thing to have but it shows how to take the dash apart. some cars especialy newer one you just pop the trim around the HU... others older cars you have to take the whole dash apart... i dont personaly know on yours.
