Hello there guys,
thank you for helping me out the last time. well, i got the amplifier and it works great. the problem here is:
i can only hear the radio. the cassette and the cd changer works but no sound from them. i used the high speker inputs at the amplifier because i only have 1 connection for the rca cables in the stereo. i even tried to connect the rca to the amplifier, again only the radio worked. i connected a speker to the outputs of the HU and everything works, in other words, there is a signal and everything is working fine even with the amp wired ( the amp gets input signal but doesnt produce output unless its radio). is it too low of a signal, the HU is a Sony XR-CA650X it is supposed to be 4x50W max.. i hope i didnt confuse anyone. thank you again for the help.

hmm this is an interesting problem. do you get any sound at all when the cd changer or cassete is hooked up? or just completly dead sounding?

ttocs or kittle well probaly be able to fix this in a jiffy when they log on later. installs are definatly there area.

How do you have the amp remote connected? HU REM wire feed, power antenna lead or other manual methods are possible, but you may have used the antenna REM feed line by mistake.

If you run the amps' REM off power antenna circuit, when in CD or tape mode, most power antennae drop the mast and no power to the amp. Only on AM/FM, will the mast be powered and amp will turn on.
Check your amp in CD mode to see if it is getting power.

A 12 volt test light probe will do. It should light when amp is radio mode. (between ground and REM post) If it goes out when in CD/tape modes... no power there to turn on amp.

If you get power there in tape/CD modes, something in HU is not working properly.

WOW.I cant believe this. i triple checked the power antena and the rem amp wires, both are blue. and especially with my car, it takes about an hour to take the dash apart and an hour to assemble it again. but just to make sure for the hundredth time, i checked and Swez was right, i mistaken the two of them. i can believe i did this especially that i checked, but i think it was heat and being tired from cold that i caught. man, 5 hours of work for a 1 second mistake. its good i have the weekend. thank you again guys. i was going crazy especially after i tested every possible way i thought of. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Glad that issue was put right huh? Common mistake made by Pro and non-Pro installers alike. Usually, that mistake only happens once. Fatigue and heat can really take a toll on concentration. Feeling sick only compounds the issue.

FYI: Summer installs... drink lots of water or Gatoraid to prevent dehydration. When we get dehydrated, the brain does not function well.
On very hot/humid daya, a gallon (or 2) of water is good to have on hand. Sodas, tea and other caffine based drinks or alcoholic beverages will cause even more dehydration... WATER is what our bodies need. (a quart an hour will do it) If we don't "wizz" in 2-3 hours... not enough fluids being processed... sweating it all out. That leads to dehydration and fatigue. No extra charge here from Dr. Swez.. hehe

It really helps to read the install manual for color codes on REM/ANT wiring. One is solid blue and other is often blue & w/stripe. Without a wiring guide, a Volt meter is a good tool to get this one right the first time.

Good job fixing the mistake.
