Just want to make sure that this is ok to do. On the 300.1 there are inputs for two subs, but its a one channel amp. The inputs looks like this + -, + - and I am using the positive from the left side and the negative from the right side. I got this amp used and my sub seems to sound better like this. I assume that the two inputs are connected to one right? Thanks, Jay Replies (3) swez on 07/29/2004 19:18:41 These outputs are there for ease of wiring multiple subs. Internally, the +'s are in parallel to each other and the -'s are also in parallel. Normal wiring is: .........Red...... Black............Red.......Black ..............Sub A........................Sub B...... The input side is the part to focus on. Using all four RCA inputs nets a very strong input signal as they are all summed together in the preamp section. Since you probably do not have the operating manual, go here and print out a copy for your references: http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Owner%27s%20Manual/bp_om.pdf Swez LC1 on 07/29/2004 21:05:38 Sorry I should have double checked my post. What I meant to say was outputs, as in speaker outputs to the sub. Two sets of speaker outputs to subs, + - , + -. I am using the positive from one side and the negative on the other (one sub 2ohms). Is this ok to do? Also for the rca inputs I am currently using all 4. Using a set of Y-Connectors to connect my rear rca's off my HU to the amp (+ from HU going into both +'s on the amp and same for -'s). It is the same effect as running two sets of RCA's apparently. A local shop here does that and that is what he reccommended. I also tried it with two sets of RCAs and didnt notice a difference between the two. Thanks, Jay swez on 07/30/2004 07:35:23 I understood the first time Jay and yes, what you have mentioned, will work fine. There are two sets of sub output terminals on the amp to make it easier to wire multiple subs. No bridging involved here as this amp only has 1 channel. It is rated for 2 ohms, but will accept a 1 ohm load in most cases too. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
