ok guys its time for a new system. price really wont be a big deal, lets say under 2500 for amps and subs. i want something that is gonna bump harder than my 2 15comp vrs but with much better sound quality not that the vrs are bad but i know theres much better to be had, but i dont want 15s anymore, i was thinkin maybe dual or quad 12s. i havnt decided on a vechicle yet but im leaning towards a 97 eclipse. i will definilty upgrade to probably a 200amp alt. so whats your guys' opinion. im looking for a class d amp for the subs and lets say a 75watt/4 channel amp and the subs for 2500 dollars. i will worry about interior speakers later since they are cheaper. right now i have a pioneer preimer 750mp cd player will probably be going to an alpine or pioneer 7.5 inch screen. thanx in advance.

A pair of Adire Brahma 12's will give you great SQL performance. Well above average drivers... but the price is a bit steep. Then there are eDesigns and Resonance Engineering subs as well.

Amp: Loads of them out there to choose from. Say maybe 1500 watts RMS... is that enough for you? Phoenix Gold, MMATTs, PPI, JL, HiFonics, Kicker, newer JBL series and so many more.

i was interested in the brahmas but their rms is so high, i know that they say they will prefrom good will lots less, what 1500 rms be enough for 2 12s? i may have to check into ED and RE do they carry the big guns like the brahmas?

I heard a guy with an S-10 PU system. He had a pair of RF HX2's (12")and a Brutus 1500D powering them in a slot port enclosure. This sucker really made some bass... 140dB + here.

The Brahma will take 1600 RMS at the voice coils, but the linear excursion is so great, much less power is often required to reach X-Max. Depends on the enclosure used.

A buddy of mine in INDY, bought a single 10" Brahma for his F-150 and it outpounds his previous dual 10" Eclipse 8710's. Powered by a DSL amp, (not sure of model number) but think he said 500 RMS @ 4 ohms is what he was running it at. Clean, pure bass... in a sealed box, about 0.8cf.

heres a couple of amps i have looked at, was wondering if anybody has any input on these models, good features, bad features and reasons to or not to buy them.
1. HiFonics BX1500D
2. Audiobahn A18001DT
3. Phoenix Gold R15.0:1
4. MTX Thunder 1501D
5. Memphis 16-ST1500D

all amps are class d technology and mono channel amps. each is capable of producing 1500 watts or better at either 2OHMS or 1OHM. any feed back on these would be nice. thanx alot

the only one i have personal experience with is the Phoenix gold amp my friend has it and its a fine amp. its phoenix golds intro model but very good features and also if it is going to be visible this amp is very very nice to look at. infact i almost got one for that reason.

The Memphis and HiFonics amps are very reliable and strong. Am sure the Bahn is also competent. The MTX mentioned can get very hot at high power levels. It's the weakest performer in reliabilty of all amps noted.

thanx uochronos and swez, i just seen the xenon seris from phoenix gold. these amps look really nice and have an impedence of 4ohms to 1 ohm on alll thier amps this would be nice for wiring up multipe subs and also getting the most from a 4 channel amp since most components are rated at 4 ohms and most amps put out the most at 2, i know i will be loosing 300 watts of power on my mono amp but i think the presentation of this amps and its ratings are worth that couple of db on bass. havent looked at prices yet probably a bundle more, but thanx for all the help guys.

the xenon series is very nice but quite spendy they are phoenix golds new high end line. if you have the money these amps or the titanium series from phoenix gold are my truely favorite amps. and asie from JL amps i cant think of an amp i would rather have if i had the money to spend on one.

off hand do you know what the fuse rating is on the 1200.1 i found on ebay that the 100x4channel if 80 amps and the 600.1 is 60, id assume the 1200 is atleast double this, but it may not be. i think i have decided against the eclipse and am really interested in a 99-03 mustang gt or corbra. i think it will be easier to get an upgraded alternator for the mustang as compared to the eclipse, this is not the reason i dont want the eclipe just an idea i had. i have seen alot of the mustangs with the mach systems in them, are they a pain in the butt or will it just be easier to bypass these, havent personally heard these sound systems but id imagine that a good set of comps maybe in front and back wired to a 4 channel amp will sound much better than the factory system.

now im on ebay lookin for compnent speakers. i have considered the cdt comps that have been recommended but i was just searching around and tryin to find some good brands, i found this link to a set of phoenix gold seperates, they seem to be a nice set and the price isnt outrages, what do ya guys think?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32819&item=5712768850&rd=1

any other recommendations would be great too, i just want to buy the best this time instead of buyin alright speakers and not being happy and then having to spend even more to buy something better, really lose alot of money that way, if i buy the best now i feel its worth spending the extra money. i can always wait till last to buy my sub amp and subs since i have both of them now that make me happy i just would rather try something different, know what i mean? sorry for all the posts i just want to know as much about the stuff i look at as possible so i make a good decision .thanx
