I'm running 4x6's in dash and 6x9's in rear deck off a coustic 50 x 4 channel amp.(separate amp for subs in trunk).Should I run separate tweeters up near the visors right off the head unit (Pioneer 50 x 4) or run them wired up with the front channel on the 4x 6's with capacitors on them or the high pass on the amp? Replies (2) uochronos on 07/29/2004 00:55:50 either way well work 20-25watts rms which is what many head units put out can make a tweeter very loud. but nalong with the other speaker well make it very loud too.... but you well change the impedence to the amp if you wire the tweeter in with the 4x6 so make sure you dont damage the amp that way. swez on 07/29/2004 08:02:59 Good to use the HU amps here as tweeters are very efficient and take very little power to get them up to +100dB of SPL. If after you do this, you find the tweeters are too overpowering for the front stage, can make an attenuation circuit to tone them down to balance front stage highs. Also, make sure you know the proper filtering network needs of these add on tweeters. Tune them too low and they lose power handling ability. Tune too high and they become overly bright and top heavy. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
