I was just looking at the usual forums , when i had the thought to see if this forum was gone forever or comming back. Well it's good to see it back, i love this forum. Replies (14) admin on 06/1/2003 10:26:47 We are glad to have you back man! HAPPY Swez on 06/1/2003 10:47:46 Hey ILB, Nice to see you back on the board again! GRIN Building again... but each week we add a few more readers... could use a few more Techies though.... Swez ILikeBass on 06/1/2003 10:55:51 Oh i would love to get my Goldie back ! i spend allot of time on forums, i would love to help out here if i could. Man this was one of the first forums i ever became part of, this is awsome, hey Swez good to "read" you again. Hey, the last thing i remember, Did you guy's ever get the "demo" van going ??? Swez on 06/1/2003 11:01:37 Dive in man... we can use a little more tech support from some experienced hands. We have 3 guys now (4 if you count Admins) but what is your specialty? Ie: Product recommendation, install tips, sub enclosure deign, HU and alarm install or A-Z install Generalist? Swez PS Yeah... been here a long time w/ CK. I started here almost 3 years ago as a semi-noobie. Now, well... am back... armed and ready to help as I can... Lock- N- Load GRIN ILikeBass on 06/1/2003 11:09:56 Gernal install really, have some experience with racing as well. install tips, and reccomendations for brands to check out ( never want anyone to purchase without listening for themselves first , or i can gurantee the person will be happy ) Pretty good knowledge of what is out there. I am basically a knowledge bank, i know allot about allot of things. Not trying to sound like i know everything cause i gurantee i don't and don't want to. ILikeBass on 06/1/2003 11:15:13 My system speaks for itself, i have a very specific taste, brand really isn't a thing for me, if it sounds good i buy it ( ofcourse if the money available can get it ) I also like giving the new guy a chance ( IE, Adire Audio when they came to the car audio scene ) I had a Brahma, i recently sold it, to begin the system i now have, i love the sub's i currently have. The Brahma was awsome, but i was looking for a specific sound that i found. xplicitblitzboi on 06/1/2003 12:04:55 yeah, thats part of the reason i've been checkin out those onyx subs. theyre newer to the scene and i'd love to try them. a couple guys on my other forum keep raving that theyre better than the brahma, so i'd like to check em out. GRIN ILikeBass on 06/1/2003 12:51:31 i gave ya a reply in the other thread the one labeled "what does your system consist of " or something like that , it's the next one on the list SMILE Relax_The_Mind on 06/1/2003 17:32:28 Swez and other techies, What kind of techies are you looking for. I am more of a very high sound quality guy as I am the Audio Engineer and Electronic tech for Perfect Concept Productions (www.perfect-concept.com). I also administer 4 different websites. Car audio has been my hobby for the past 6 years. I mean... my tech experience list is endless. Im here to help on either web development or any kind of audio tech stuff. I have free time in the dark hours of the night. Here's a pic of my current system in the camaro. http://www.perfect-concept.com/mytrunk.JPG Swez on 06/1/2003 17:46:23 Your present skill sets will definitely compliment what we have here now... HU Install and alarms Guru (ttocs), Generalist and good all around research skills (Blitz), Back room site Manager (Admins) , Generalist: product install, system configurations, web search experience, Web site host (different site) power management schemes and sub woofer design assistance and misc. (Swez) What we seem to need is someone with a strong engineering background and maybe has a solid apps knowledge of WinISD programs and can teach it to others as well. That would be a great addition to the Golds Team! We have similar backgrounds... you seem to have more hands on in Pro Audio Engineering and that's a big plus! That 6 years of Car audio will be handy as well. We are a well oiled team here and we seem to be doing a good job keeping our "egos" in check (I hope) as well. This is collaborative effort forum, not a combative one... just like before. Hope that meets your needs as we try to meet the needs of our readers. GRIN Comments? Are you experienced with Win ISD? Swez ILikeBass on 06/1/2003 22:45:04 I am pretty familliar with Win ISD, i use it to model all of my set-ups, it can be pretty confusing, and in the beginning, you try to make sense of the SPL screen :) which is completly incorrect in all aspects, but as far as plotting peaks and port velocity as well as showing transfer function of the box with the particular woofer, it is pretty accurate, i belive someone tested it out using a Linear X mic to see if it was at all worth using and turns out to be quit accurate in Tuning ported enclosers and showing how the subwoofer will react in the given information. Relax_The_Mind on 06/1/2003 23:56:54 Swez, Heh yes I am quite familiar with Win ISD. I use Win ISD pro right now and its not too shabby. It is basically a big calculator (a very very good one actually) with simple i/o progs. I havent used any I/O hardware with it I just use it for box designing. Yes... I personally think it is very accurate in the box and port tuning section. Beats crunching numbers on paper. Going to school with other audio engineering people, you might as well bet just about every car in the lot had a system in it. I've seen some insane systems. Most everyday our heads were in someones trunk. DB Drags and all that mess. You seem like you have all the major angles covered. The most I can help with is when someone needs deeper more technical help with their setups, or even web development side. I am in and out of town and all over the US, but im always seem to be online somehow. RTM xplicitblitzboi on 06/2/2003 13:59:11 well it looks like we have about 4 golds now that RTM is here, and maybe 5 if ilikebass gets it soon, 5 should be good for the amount of traffic we see every day :) hopefully we get some more soon, cuz i love to help as much as i can. ILikeBass on 06/2/2003 16:53:13 Oh, i would love to get the Gold Medal Back. I used to be one before the site went down. I only recently the other day found out it was back up. This was one of the first Forums i have ever used, and let me add it was defintaly the best for new people to car audio to come to, No flamming and no lies, just the truth and help, thats why i liked it so much. Not to mention the Awsome people here. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
