what's up guys, well, i am going to get a Kenwood in-dash dvd player/monitor in a couple weeks. it's really sweet, and i'm getting it for only 500 bucks, so that's awesome, too, but i have a problem. for those of haven't seen the location of the radio in a 1992 isuzu rodeo, the radio is located almost directly in front of the shifter on a manual transmission, making it not only too low for an in-dash to be visible, but the shifter will block some of the picture from my view and from anyone else's in the car. however, i have noticed that, about 9 inches above the location of the radio, there are the a/c controls. the entire unit is almost EXACTLY the size of a din head unit. my question is, is it possible to relocate the a/c controls to where the radio is now, and move the in-dash to where the a/c controls are now?? it would be perfectly visible from there and looks like it would fit very good. has anybody ever done such a thing?? also, i'm sure i can take it all apart, but if some of the heater or a/c wires or anything else in the unit need to be lengthened, can they?? any comments or suggestions would be appreciated, as usual. thanks, -UK Replies (1) ttocs on 07/27/2004 23:08:09 it would be easier in a newer car, where all you would have to do is extend wires. Older vehicles use cables and vacuum systems that could make it hard. It can probably be done, but you will be hardrpessed to get instructions on that. most of the time we do custom stuff like that we make it up as we go. Take a look in and see what you think would be problems. Your best bet to find someone else that has done it would be to check sounddomain.com 's vehicle section. I have never been on the forum there, don't know if it would help. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
