Hey guys, how's everyone doing? -- I just recently got an e-mail from walt asking if I was still interesting in being a member of this site.. and of course i said YES. I've just been working so much recently that I haven't had time to do much of anything. On my free time I've been trying to work on my car, and now i'm actually looking for a new car.. specifically a 90-96 Nissan 300ZX TT, or a 93-99 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4.

Well, to update everyone [if anyone cares.. haha.. ].. I am still MECP Certified and I'm still working at Best Buy as a mobile installer, along with working at my CADD job full time now.

My system: in my 95 Mazda MX-6 LS

JVC - KD-LH300 HU
(4) Pioneer 6x8 4-way interior speakers
(2) 12" Power Acoustik FUBR Subwoofers
(2) JBL 180.2 Amps.. each one feeding 90w to 2 speakers, Front and Rear
(2) Power Acoustik 1800 [honestly i forgot the model number] Amps, one per sub, putting out 560w RMS and 980w Peak.

Loads of Dynamat
Rockford Fosgate Wiring + Connectors + Distribution Blocks + Battery Clamps
Optima Red Top Battery

Glad to be back, I'll try to check in as often as I can.

90-96 Nissan 300ZX TT, or a 93-99 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4

Two of my favorites... the only 3kgt I'd be glowing about is the 1999, that was the best year for the body; it got discontinued that year. 2+2, or regular 2 in the 300zx?

Who stops making cars that look better than most cars being released today? Same thing with the 2nd gen Supras.

CADD - Computer Aided Design with one extra letter??

please do not get a 3000GT. in my personal experience, they SUCK and the parts and labor for fixing them is out of this world. yes, they are really nice cars, but they are mitsubishi, who didn't exactly make the best cars during the 90's. (see: eclipse, diamante, anything else that might need a new engine at just 80,000 miles)

could you imagine how much it would be to replace the turbos on that car if (and WHEN) they go out??

if you have a craving for a TT car, get the 300ZX. much more quality car. it's light compared to the incredibly heavy 3000GT, they are built better, handle better, and they are easier to work on.

good luck, either way you are going to have one of the more powerful, affordable cars of the 90's.

I just think the 3kgt's are pretty... GRIN

Lots of people have told me about them too... they're safe though, since they're so heavy and you're have more control of the car (4wd).

the 3000gt's are extremly spendy to work on. alot of cheaper pretty cars of the 90's... i had a ford probe GT nice looking care and relativly cheap to work on. prettty quick too. also rated incredibly well in crash tests... i liked it because it had room for all my stereo stuff and looked nice. just dont get an automatic from 1993-1995 they had issues i replaced the auto tranny 3 times in a year and a half hence my selling of the car... the place i had put on in it replaced it undder warranty both times but said they couldnt do it a third time.

Yes, I like the 300zx twin turbo better than the 3000GT VR4.. the VR4 transfer case has huge problems.. my friend has one, he loves it, but he also drives another car for reliability [96 talon TSI.. not quite the most reliable thing i would have chosen.. haha hes big into DSMs].. oh well.. I've been looking at this one 300zxtt for awhile now, and if we can get the lifter to stop ticking tonight, im buying it :)

uochronos - the PGT has the same motor as my 95 MX6, and yes, the auto trannies suck.. mine is leaking hardcore. I just need soemthing different.. otherwise i would keep it.. it runs mint, and the body is in decent shape, and i own it, no payments.. oh well.

aposynthesi: CADD = Computer Aided Drafting and Design -- most people just shorten it, but i think it sounds more complex when you add everything together :) haha.
