Hey guys, does anybody know if Audiomobile has gone out of business or if maybe their site has changed? I went to buy a pair of Audiomobile Mass subs and site isn't working...Another question...do any of you have any suggestions for subs that are close to the performance of these subs?Looking for 12's for a sealed enclosure (about 1.00 cu. ft. per chamber) Thx. Replies (14) admin on 05/30/2003 16:37:29 Looks like they are Down for now audiomobileinc.com THINK AUDIOMOBILE (AUDIOMOBILEINC-DOM) 5155 W ROSECRANS AVE # 1096 HAWTHORNE, CA 90250-6694 US Domain Name: AUDIOMOBILEINC.COM Administrative Contact, Technical Contact: AUDIOMOBILE (AU424-ORG) no.valid.email@worldnic.net AUDIOMOBILE 5155 W ROSECRANS AVE # 1096 HAWTHORNE, CA 90250-6694 US 310 376 2504 fax: 310 376 5560 Relax_The_Mind on 05/30/2003 20:31:45 mr Javen, Comparable to audiomobile subs... hmm many subs can compare to them. But instead of weeding through the many subs im gonna give you my personal opinion. I've worked with many different models of subs. For the price, look, performance, sound quality and most definately the price...I'd take a good look at Audiobahns line of subs. www.audiobahninc.com I've blown away people with subs costing 3 times as much (such as Orion, Kicker, MTX, MA Audio, Rockford) and none of theirs looked anywhere as cool as my setup (my two 12"s cost me about $170 for the both of them. The Audiobahn alum 12"s can be loud as you probably want and the SQ is excellent. (my bro-in-law has a pair of them) not only are they cool but they sound a little like Audiomobile. Audiobahn Audiomobile ? hehe...maybe other people have other suggestions. But I really think you should try em out. RTM ps. dont kill the messenger Swez on 05/30/2003 21:51:06 There are lots of great subs out there for SQ, SPL and a combination of both... depends on the sub/enclosure design features. What size enclosure do you need? How much RNS power are you planning to run them at? Are you more SPL or SQ? Amp brand and product # would be nice (or a web link) Some guys love the Alum 12's from Bahn... not too expensive, high SPL, fair SQ and can take a lot of RMS watts. But, there are other choices out there too... Swez X-JaVeN-X on 05/30/2003 22:42:36 i'll be pushing the 2 subs with a 1000d memphis amp they'll be in a 1.00 cu. ft. enclosure (just right for the audiomobile subs...heh) I'm i'm an sq/spl guy...probably leaning more towards the sq side as i listen to alot of rock as well as rap...so i want something clean that can keep up with rock and not just be loud. Anymore suggestions...keep em coming...my price range is about $360 per sub...thx A buddy of mine said Diamond makes good subs...any opinion on these? Swez on 05/31/2003 11:54:53 Have a look at this sub data for the Shiva Mark III. You can get a pair for $250.00 + S&H. Very clean sound in a 1.0 cf enclosure, easily handles +500 watts RMS per sub and very good SQ and SPL.... if you have a large enough amp. These are DVC 4/8/16 subs, so a pair wired in full parallel will net 2 ohms. If that amp can do 1000 watts RMS @ 2 ohms, these guys will do fine. Here's a tech note to review: http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/ShivaTechSummary.PDF If you want to spend a bit more, a single Bramah 12" will easily handle all the amp power you have in style. They are 1/2/4 DVC and all you need here, is one sub for that amp. This sub can take 1600 watts RMS and nets supurb SQ and high SPL as well. Check out the X-max numbers for this sub... it will move lots of air, which creates high SPL bass...but is designed for HIGH SQ as well. Have a look: http://www.adireaudio.com/mobile_audio/drivers/brahma_series.htm Swez xplicitblitzboi on 05/31/2003 13:00:28 yes, the shiva is a great sub, especially for the money, i have recently worked with them and was very impressed, as for audiobahn, i was a little skeptical of them before i worked with them, due to the fact that some of their lower model stuff isnt very good build quality. If you go for their higher end stuff, you most likely wont be dissappointed(sp?) on a side note, im sorry to say that with my recent speeding ticket im going to have to sell my 3 JL audio 10w0s in box. anyone interested? too bad that memphis amp would be a little too much for them :( oh well, i should get a fair amount of money for them anyways. my friend has a couple of old w3s sittin in his room, maybe i can borrow those.... THINK meat on 05/31/2003 16:45:13 blitz, where do you live? I'm just trying to figure how much it would cost to ship something like that. I'm in Nebraska. How much would are you looking for those w0s? I'm semi-interested, so if you have a more serious buyer, go ahead and deal with them, I'm just inquiring. Thanks. X-JaVeN-X on 05/31/2003 17:04:02 Hey any of you that have delt with the adireaudio brahma series subs. What are your personal opinions on they're sq/spl? I want something with really good transient response...i want some real chest thumping bass. Also, i'd be getting 2 of them...and they'd be getting about 600 watts a piece...which according to the page is far from their rms...is that still sufficient enough to push them decent? Give me some personal input on these as i've never heard any adire audio subs personally...thx Swez on 05/31/2003 18:16:23 I have done a cutom box for a client with Shiva's and they were very impressive. Depending on the box design, these can thump & bump with anything out there costing 2x these subs. As for transient response, yep.... can get that easily in the smaller sealed enclosure to. Tight crisp bass, and deep, gut punching lows too due to the low Fs of these subs. Have not heard the Brahma's yet... but several of the guys I work with on a different forum, rave that this sub is outstanding. They should know as they have been using computer modeling to design their enclosures... WinISD. Your amp is a tadd too small to get the most from a pair of Brahma 12's.... but if you had a pair of 1000d Memphis amps, and they can do 1 ohm loads... that'd be one loud system. A single Brahma would be great with what you have now, provided it can take a 1 ohm load. A new box perhaps... but that's no biggie if you can make your own or modify the one you have now. Swez PS One of my clients bought 4, 12" Brahma's and a 1200 watt RMS amp per each sub. Not done with the rest of the install yet, so I don't know his latest report on them. He installed all this stuff in a PT Cruiser, but blew the engine due to the turbo charger not being set properly... I think he just got his new engine in and will be back on the rest of the nstall soon. meat on 05/31/2003 18:43:34 wow, 4 Brahma's? impressive. how big of an alternator does he have? 4800 watts RMS is insane. maybe he'll put up a webpage showing the install process he's going through putting those in, I'd really like to see pictures of his final setup. X-JaVeN-X on 05/31/2003 21:05:27 Another question...do any of you know of an amp that puts out a true 2000 watts or more? I was looking at the memphis mojo amp...2400 watts (supposedely)...do any of you know of anymore with this kind of power? Swez on 05/31/2003 21:17:11 Meat: Here's a link to his site for pics. Has not been updated yet with new amps and subs... Teal had eye surgery recently and is trying to recoupe from the loss of left eye to cancer. I would imagine he is a bit hampered right now, but has some bold gear already in place and 4 Brahama's pending and 4 x 1200 RMS amps to run them. Not sure, but think he is planning to use a different amps, than JBL 1200.1's in the future. He did have a 2nd HO ALT and a bank of Yellow Tops planned for the sub amps and run his bass Mechaniks off the stock electricals for the 3-way door system... Midbass, midrange and tweeters... all Diamond Hex S500 series... have a look at the old stuff if you like: http://www.cardomain.com/id/ptteal JaVen: Ia cannot think of any amps that can truly meet that demand. However, a pair of JBL BD 1200.1 will do the job and then some. I hear they are less than $300.00 per amp, off the web. The biggest issue you'll have here, is feeding these monsters enough current. Each amp will draw a max of 114A each at full power, but will run well with ~80-100A per amp. These are 1 & 2 ohms stable as well.... but still have to come up with a very beefy ALT and battery to get these guys to full potential. Also, are talking about dual #2 gage (1 per amp) power line or welding cable, (0 gage) to manage that much current fro 2 amps in a single cable. Also, looking at a 250-300A ALT to power the amps alone... I thought you were into SQ and not so much SPL??? Have you changed your direction or just wanting loud and clean bass? Autotek, Harrison Labs both have some pretty poten amps... but real pricey too... a pair of JBL 1200.1 will be much cheaper ($$) in the long run. Have a look at Autotek and HL @: http://www.thezeb.com Swez Relax_The_Mind on 05/31/2003 23:21:44 Javen, There are quite a bit of amps out there that put out high amounts of rms power...other than the ones below there are also many amps that can be bridged together to add up to what u need to . Many manufacturers also make custom amps (Orion). MA Audio has a couple amps this one has 4400rms @ 1 ohm http://maaudio.com/productcatalog.cfm?class=621 and an audiobahn that has 5000rms @1 ohm mono http://www.audiobahninc.com/products/AMPS/aspl5000.html and for your inital post. If you were leaning towards SQ, I dont understand the excess of cone area and wattage when 1 good sub will give you more than enough SQ (that JL w7 will do your SQ wonders). If you mean music you can hear 4-5 blocks away you are talking more about SPL. When you turn up your system with what you seem to be looking for, the only people who will hear the SQ is the people 4-5 blocks away and you will be stuck listening to "rattle and vibrations" tracks 1-1000. Anything musicially speaking, above ~120db is sound excess not sound quality. RTM xplicitblitzboi on 06/1/2003 02:54:12 ummm i live in washington, shipping to nebraska might be a little steep as 3 subs in box is a bit heavy...lol, you can check out my ebay auction at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14932&item=3027101530 by the way, did you know that my public disturbance ticket was more than my speeding ticket when i was going 30 over? thats screwed up. which is more dangerous, 90 in a 60 or subs at half volume??? screw the cops oh, btw, if you want to contact me by e-mail, its dli1314@attbi.com Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
