Audi 96 A4 Quattro install kit

I have been to several installation places around me and all of them say the same thing, Audis are a pain to install stereo in. Is this true? I plan on installing an Alpine in my 96 Audi A4 Quattro and need to get the correct kits. Has anyone installed on this car before?

every audi i have ever seen uses keys to remove the stereo. so as far as actually removing them, they are incredibly easy. no work required. however, you are in for some real fun if you have a bose system installed in your car. if that is the case, you have to get an adapter to integrate the bose system with an aftermarket radio. let us know if you do have the bose system and we'll tell you how to get through it.

I agree and disagree about the easy to remove. The new ones use 4 keys, and 2 people to operate them. They tend to stick a bit but with some work and a little cursing it will come out. The kit should not be a big deal the problem would be in the wiring really. may or may not be premium system that would require a little extra work.

they always piss us off as you need 5 hands to get them out... 4 hands to push the keys(all have to be just right), and then one person to pull the deck......
