I want to get the CDT component set (Cl-61A or T) http://www.thezeb.com/CDTAudio.aspx?Results=1&CategoryID=15&manufacturer=8 the Titanium and the Silk ones are the same price, which one is better? Also would anyone know how long these will be on sale for... I just don't have the money yet and want these.

For Power: I was looking at 4 channel amps that run about 80 RMS @ 4Ohms and found the APX640.4 by Clarion http://www.clarioncanada.com/english/product/index.php?mod=details&category=amplifiers&product=APX640.4 would this amp be good to run the CDT's and these 4X6 speakers that have 4" Glass-Fiber Woofer Cone and a 3/4" Pure Silk Dome Tweeter http://www.clarioncanada.com/english/product/index.php?mod=details&category=proaudio&product=SRC4695
PS are these speakers any good? lol

Thanks again for any help

Mostly would be Metal/Punk, Rap sometimes for bass.

I had a pair of Titanium 1" tweets by MB Quartz. They were real tingy & sharp. Some high's were almost to crisp to me... I like my music loud & found them to be a bit to whiney. However, now I run 1" Silk dome Infinity KAPPA's. They are alot better sounding to me. The highs are smooth, but still standing out. Music is softer & more wrap around while watching movies. I really can't comment on the brand you have above. Never seen/heard of them before.

With listening pefrence of Punk/Rock... I would say you might find the Titanium's to your liking. If your into hearing crisp signals (ie. symbols, high pitch guitar chords, and SCREAMING.... lol). However, thats just my opinon... just goig upon my trial/error testing.

It's really a personal preference.

Metal dome tweeters can be very bright and can be almost harsh if you don't have EQ to tone them down a bit.

Silks are smoother, more natural sounding and some who like a wide range of music, prefer these.

The CDT Classics have been on sale for almost a year now and until they run out of stock on the -a's, that price will probably remain steady. It was a flaw in the paint color that brought this brand into affordable prices. But the audio performance is right there!

Also, you mentioned the 4x6 plates up front in the dash. These are of better than average for the front stage. To protect them from excess bass energy and power, have to filter them pretty high. (say 300 Hz or more)

The CL-61a is an excellent upgrade to the front or rear stage speakers. When installed in kick panels up front, they really shine. If you use them in the rear cargo area, they will sound better than your 4x6 plates and will go lower too. Either way, the plates are of good design, just a poor choice in location for quality audio. That amp mentioned has plenty of power to drive both speakers noted. Just go easy on the power settings for the plates. They cannot take as much low bass energy.

Well I want to get the kick pannels, about how much are they? then I want to put the plates in the factory spot, it sits right beside your ear in the back. Thanks for the help.

Look at Q-logic for kicks. They make Universal and custom vehicles fits for many common vehicles. Even come in colors to match your interior trim...

Price... about $120.00/pr. (USD)

Here's a link to Q-logic kicks for Chevy/GM cars and trucks. If you are not sure which one is needed, call or email and also find a disty in your area.

I have heard many many cheap aluminum tweets and always thought they were too harsh, so I decided to go with silk tweets in my car. I have two sets (5.25 and 6.5) of diamond hex components which retail around $500 each. and to be honest, I am thinking of going back and purchasing the aluminum tweeters. I don't have the subs in my car yet, as it is a work in progress, but I am not really pleased with the silks. I wanted a smoother high - musically, but in my opinion silk tweets are just a little too little. It seems like they just don't reach the top end like the aluminums do. If you purchase quality components, you will have an adjustable crossover on the highs. This allows you to cut down the harshness while still getting the crisp high end as well. I really was pro silk until I heard the difference.
