I installed 2 12'' rockford punch z subs and a rockford 1000watt amp to my stock head unit ,in my 98 tahoe. And now every time i turn on the key it blows a radio fuse before the radio even comes on . i used an ''installedge'' aeloc for the RCA,and a rockford wiring kit. Do i have some wires crossed somewhere? this is my first intall please help Replies (2) Relax_The_Mind on 05/29/2003 22:59:06 b-man, Lets see here, a fuse blowing... from what you say i may be a little lost here but you said its a stock factory head unit? that meaning I wouldnt know where your grounding out for your radio fuse. The only thing i can think of off the top of my head is a wrong ground connection somewhere as im not sure about your car but many new cars have 2 grounds. Im guessing your installedge RCA is a line out converter which in turn most likely has no power connections. If its either of your amp fuses and it only blows when you turn your car on your battery fuse may be to small. A 1000w rockford amp could be quite a bit more than your Punch Z's can handle unless you turn down the gain like halfway. I think you need to tell a little more about exactly how you have all your add-ons hooked up and wired up to give you a more precise answer. RTM ttocs on 05/30/2003 10:43:38 You probably tapped the remote turn on lead to the switched ignitinion on the stock deck. There is no real reason that the amp should draw that much current at the initial turn on, but it is possible. Disconnect the remote lead on the amp and see if it does it again...
