Is this amp a high current amp? I prefer your guys word over anyone else's. I talked to winkasettie about this amp and he told me that the AVT and Tsunami were the same current draw, which I think is wrong. Not sure if I asked before, but Thanx anyway.

Have heard that brand name before and I think they are similar in design to Avionixx amps. Different name and looks, same Mfg. Marketed by Avionixx, but an older amp design. Hard to find too.

Nope, I think the Tsunami DB1100 is a high current Class D, Series II amp. It will suck some serious power from your electricals. But not as bad as traditional Class A/B (HC) designs. The price is reasonable, has nice features too. My guestimate here, the amp will pull between 80 -100A. of current at full load.

Here's a link to Avionixx:
1. http://www.avionixxusa.com/ep/db1100.htm
2. http://www.avionixxusa.com/ep/contact.htm

Contact them and ask how much amperage draw this amp will pull at guts out power.

winkasettie is who i bought my AXT 1200.2 from it was great condition and in working order and really pounds out the bass... the tsunami amp is closer in comparisioon to the AXA series by avionixx.... still a very nice amp. but winkasettie still had some 1200.2 axt amps left last i talked to him about a week ago for 220$ you cant beat these amps in my opinion. they are very easy to use but have alot of nice features

Why are their amps so cheap?

Avionixx amps are realativly cheap stright from the company because they are fairly new company and they sell factory direct so they dont haev all the over head a audio shop does nor the markup.... the fellow mentioned from ebay sells them even cheaper because he somehow gets the refurbs from avionixx and sells them they are refurbished but carry the 30day refurb warranty and mine came in perfect working order. although if you read his feed back a few peopkle have goten bum gear but he always replaces it or refunds money...

the AXT series are also class T digital amps which means they use less power then a A/B or D class amp with equal power output... they afre around 90-96% effiecient from my reading and understanding. and with the 1200.2 having a fuse rating of 150amps thats up to 1450watts rms at 12 volts... i was told that a tested one hooked to 14.4 volt power source put out around 1700watts rms...

i have been very impressed with mine i dont have my sub yet waiting for the ED E12Av2 sub to come out.... but have the 1200.2 hooked to a E12kx series sub 400watts rms rating and have the gaiun turned to to 4 volts and since my preouts are 2 volts i;m only getting around 200-400watts rms to the sub and it sounds beutiful... cant wait to get the big sub and really take her for a test run:)

I asked winkasettie a couple of weeks ago and he told me that he ran out of the 1200.2. Maybe because he was trying to sell me a 800.2, but I wanted the 1200. Reason I asked to because there is a killer deal for a Tsunami on ebay for 180.00 and the seller says it was used for about 2 hours. Also it has a bass remote and the amp is still in the original box. I think I might jump on it ASAFP. So do you guys agree?..

That much power at that price is a good thing if you get a decent warrantee. Most amps... if they fail... will usually happen in the first 90 days or so. If you get past that period problem free and don't abuse the product or use in ways not intended. (it happend a lot more than you'd think)

Refurbs are a very good bargain in my experience. They are returned units that failed for one reason or another. Get special hand assy treatment and testing before they go out for sale at much less than new. Refurbs cannot be sold as new and a discount of 25-40% off retail is the norm. I bought a refurb JBL Decade 2 channel for my subs about 4 years ago and the amp has worked flawlessly. Well worth the money spent... $0.32/watt (RMS) on this one. When new, that amp sold for almost $1.00/watt . Got a 1 year factory warrantee too.
