boat speakers in an accord

hey guys,

we installed a new demo station at work today. the old one was a bunch of marine equipment, amps, sub, speakers, etc. i paid 10 bucks for some bazooka 6.5's that are in perfect shape, and i was wanting to know what you guys think about putting them in my younger brothers 92 accord?? the magnet on them is HUGE, so i know they won't fit in the door, but they will fit in the rear deck with a little work.

oh yeah, i got a real nice aiwa cd player for 15 bucks at work, too. that's 15, not 150!! it's in great shape, and even has an aux input. i could always use an extra cd player for whenever i buy cheap cars to drive to work/school.

peace,

cool. i'm gonna put them in tomorrow at the shop. i mean, for 10 bucks, it's at least worth trying. even if it sounds like crap, i'm only out 10 bucks.

i'll let ya know how it sounds,

where do you install at?

UKinstaller on 07/6/2004 22:41:47
circuit city. i didn't have a chance to do it today because we were too busy, but i did put in his alpine 9827 radio. even with the stock crapola, that radio can make anything sound good.

boat speakers are going in thursday.

no, i wish i worked there... i put in an application at the kennsaw, ga store two or three days ago. i may have to go with best buy because it doesn't seem like they're hiring FROWN

i heard you have to be MECP certified to work for best buy, but i'm not sure about that. good luck w/ the job hunt.

the people at best buy bother me... they don't seem like they know much about their job.

Most don't.... either in Sales or the Install Bays. They usually have 1 or 2 well qualified installers in a given store. The rest are rookies who need lots of supervision and lack experience to do the job right the first time. You would never know that unless you look at the turnover rates.

Basic installs are usually done by the rookies and "hopefully" reviewed by the Sr. Techs before the car goes back to the customer. A good place to cut teeth and learn... but the skilled installers usually leave once they have a well rounded background to either smaller custom shops or start their own install biz. More money made that way.
