ok first thing and i cant stress this enough dont buy anything on the spur of the moment i know its very tempting i have been there but my first 3 systems where mismatched junk because of it.

now with that said... lets figure out what you want are you looking for an SPL(loudness system loud banging bass) or an SQ(sound quality nice crisp hear every note) type of system? or a mix of both?

from your sub selection you listed i would assume SPL system

here are the thinsg you well probaly be looking at getting..
subs 1,2,3?
amps a sub amp and perhaps a mids/highs amp.
4 new speakers preferably component speakers.
perhaps battery upgrade mattering one how much current amps draw
perhaps a alternator upgrade mattering how much amps draw.
of course a decent HU(head unit)

things to stay away from are power caps these are hardly usefull if at all a upgrade batery can do 100 times more, alot of people get told that they need one of these when they start out i know i was, but they arnt worth the effort....

now 1 last question are you 100% stuck one Kicker compVR's? these are very nice SPL subs but there are alot of other nie subs for lesser prices some of which are even better subs... elemental designs for one.

well i think thats enough to chew on tonight get back too use and we well start helping you on the trek to getting a system that you well love.

Well said there "young grasshopper" ! Chronos is pointing you in a helpful direction. Have to determine the outcome you want in the end and begin buying and installing quality gear as your budget permits. We can help you with that side of the equation.

SET YOUR GOALS NOW ! Then begin to build your system well the 1st time. It's all about priorities, performance and price.

Some thoughts to aid your progress:

1. Do I like the factory HU features enough to keep it, or yank it out and get a nice Aftermarket model with some very useful features?

2. The interior speakers make all the difference in mid/highs applications. Quality COMPONENT speakers in front are great, a good set of coaxials in rear will complete this phase. It's worth the effort and expense if you want Home Theater sound quality in your truck too.

3. To Am p or not to amp the interior speaker system? To get the highest output and clarity from interior speakers, amping is an obvious YES. You can go without one for now, but the HU (factory or aftermarket models) have their limitations More on this topic later... you are not ready for a full meal just yet.

4. Subwoofers & amping: This is a major choice too. Have to sort out how much bass is enough for your tastes. Just realize the more sub power you add, the more money you will spend on electricals like amp, electrical system upgrades, (ALT, BAT and wiring) A large Bass Machine (1000 watts RMS or more) will really work your electrical system hard. If you can stay in the 500 watt (RMS) range, the subs are cheaper as is the amp and less power management issues to throw money at later.

OK, this is just a primer to get your thinking process moving in a logical direction. Come back with your comments and where you wish to begin first.

PS Some of these trucks use Infinity upgrades. They have power amps for the speakers and decent HU's. Just replacing the interior speakers will help a lot. But when adding a sub system, other factors come into play... getting a clean signal from HU/amps to sub(s).
