I have 2 Power Acoustik - FUBR Series 1800-Watt 12" Heavy-Duty Dual-Voice-Coil 2-Ohm Subwoofers with Nonpressed Paper Cone, in a q-logic box, powered by 2 Sony - 1200W Bridgeable 2-Channel MOSFET Amplifiers (one for each sub) and a Rockford Fosgate - 1-Farad Capacitor for support. also entire trunk, and box dynamated.

with me so far?

the head unit is a Sony Xplode indash receiver. pushing 4 Kenwood 5-1/4" 2-Way Car Speakers with Polypropylene Cone (upto 150 wats each)

now it might sound like i know alot about car audio stuff but the truth is i jus copied what was on the boxes... im really a newb and i kno the system isnt bad but i wanna kno how to set it up properly to get the most out of it so if anybody can help me out please let me know... i have some pictures of it in my cardomain site so u can get a better idea of it... the amps are ontop of the box if u cant see it (http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/605126) thankx in advance

not a bad set up for a beginer at all... in general sony is not a great option though they are expensive for what you get. they well work for this though just not the greatest...

whish sony amps are they model number please? also what model recier that can make alot of differnce to how we well suggest setting it up...

also i would suggest taking the cap back or using it as a paper wait they arnt worth a damn really. a better battery 600-900cold cranking amps(CCA) well be like getting 1000farad cap. also upgradeing the alternator well help alot more then anythign else if you haev bad diming..

i just looked up the subs on there site and they look like a pretty decent sub although i ahev never had personal experience and at 700watts RMS power and usualy a 1200watt sony amp is around 600watst rms and should match subs pretty decent... although wont know till we get amp model number...

hope this gets you started a bit...

Good start here bud.... nice mods on your ride so far.

For starters, please list all items you have by model number and manufacturer with a web site link to same.

Example:

1. Power Acoustik
FUBAR -12 Subs
http://www.poweracoustik.com/fubr.html

2. Rockford Fosgate
1.0 Farad Power Cap
P/N CPC10-03 ($93.00)
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/ezcompare/accessories/
Accessories_fullSize.asp?key=1576
===================================================

When you get this list together, we can help a lot faster w/o having to look everything up for you.

You said you want to set up your system better? Better in what ways?
Be a bit more specfic on that comment please. Better mids/highs? More Bass? Better balance between Bass and mid/highs????

Swez

PS Agree with Chronos... the CAP is really not much use in most car systems. It "may" help with light dimming a bit on big bass hits... but putting efforts into a more robust ALT/BAT and wiring of the electricals are far more useful than any CAP will ever be. An 850 CCA rated battery ($95.00 -120.00) will give you more than 2,000,000 times the current storage capacity of a 1 Farad CAP. (what... $75.00 - 100.00?)
