I'm trying to hook up 3 -10's with 2 different amps. For some reason I can't get power to either of them when I use my distribution block, I've tried several others. Did I include, I'm also incorporating a 20 volt capaciter? I need some help here guys, please. Thanks

what's up buddy,

three 10's on two amps?? doesn't sound very good to me because it sounds like you would be having unequal power distribution to your subs, and that would not sound very good.

please tell us what kind of amps and subs you have, what gauge wire you are using, etc. and we can help much more.

also, 20 volt capacitor?? please be more specific. how many farads is it??

finally, does anything get power at all when you don't use the block??

we can help much more when you let us know all of this stuff.

take it easy,

Time for some electrical diagnostics here. You'll need a volt/ohm meter to trace power from BAT to amps and a good ground too.

1. Check the inline fuse of your power wire to ensure it is OK

2. Measure voltage between body and power line (should have ~12.5 volts w/ engine off and +13.5 with car running)

3. If you have power on that line as noted, then move through D-block connections to see if voltage is there too

4. If you read no DC voltage on that line, something is not connected well or a short to ground has occurred. This is not uncommon as reinstalling trim screws can pierce the power cable. That makes for a dead short and blown fuse. Now power in the line is your clue.

Disable (delete) the CAP for now as you test. (if it is not a CAP designed for Car audio, it will block DC power) Also, when using surge Caps, they have to be fully charged to pass power through them.

Finally, not a great idea to run 3 subs off 2 amps unless you can carefully match input watts (volts x current) to each sub. Is better to either use 1 amp for all 3 subs. (MONO amp) or use 3 amps... 1 for each sub and balance output into each sub.
