dont you guys have 2 Shiva 12's off a jbl bp600.1? if so....

how loud does that get? im looking to put a system in my girls car and she wants it to be REALLY loud.......(to show up all her friends systems lol) but yea....how loud do they get?

i think running each one off of a JBL P180.2 would be a better bet... since they are dual 8 ohm subs.. you could wire them up to be 4 ohm each.. then up to 2 ohm for the 600.1 .. but then youd only get about 300 each.. maybe..

with the 180.2 you can wire them up 4 ohm each.. and then run them bridged for 360 watts RMS each.. and JBL underrates their amps anyway... sooo

I actually don't have any subs at the moment.. Don't have a HU either... Teal is planning a large system with 4 of them..

ah that sux...i thought u where runnin them....who runs 2 Shiva's off of a 600.1?.....and wich do you think would be louder? 2 shivas off a 600.1? or 2 type R 15's?


and as far as running each one off of a P180.2.....why? then you have the problem of setting gains exactally the same...and on JBL amps...thats a intresting trick......and your right JBL underrates their amps ALOT so the 600.1 would probally give each sub ~350......and thats pushing the limits of the subs as i understand it

What kind of systems do her friends have, then we could give you better advice.

I run 2 Shiva's, and they are by far loud enough for me. I give each one about 500 and i know they could handle more.

The Type R 15"s will be louder most likely, but they will need a larger amp than the shivas.

intresting, im not looking for any suggestons on other systems....i just wanted to know how loud the shiva's got and if someone could compare them to the Type-R 15's....i think im going with the alpines......and a jbl 1200.1 just gonna keep the gains a little low :-D.....this should be intresting.....im gonna need some help with building a box for them tho....i wanna go ported, for the added SPL but I have absolutely no box building skilz at all.....does anyone have an autocad program that they could model up a box for me? it would be very helpful :-D
