wiring trouble

I need help!!! I've had my cd/mp3 player installed in my 95 eclipe for about 3 months now. The other day when I came out of the store, it wouldn't turn on. I figured maybe a fuse had blown or a connection had come undone. When i pulled the panel off and took a look, everything was still intact and no blown fuse. Then it got weird. If I hook the stereo's Acc+ line (red) to the car's Continuous+ (yellow), everything works fine (except for the stereo no longer turning off with the ignition). So I bought a multimeter and checked the line in the harness, nothing!!! No current at all.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Has anyone else seen this happen?

The only thing I can think of is to rewire the ignition line, but I have no idea where to run it to.

Any help at all is tremendously appreciated

just seems that your ignition lead is messed up. where did you unplug the acc+ from before you disconneceted and tapped into the continuous? did you make sure the harness was giving 12 volts through the red wire when the car was running. if it does not then your problem is between your harness and your factory wiring. probably what happened was a wire just got knocked loose due to maybe a poor crimp or soder job... if you cant get that to work. can always run a new wire direct to your HU from a power supply that runs only when the vehicle is on. or maybe even direct from the ignition. good luck wait for swez or ttocs to answer this though, im not a pro when it comes to wiring.

If it worked before, and no fuse is blown, (double check that fuse with meter as it may look good, but may be blown) the wire may have come loose in the harness. (+12 volts ACC/IGN)

You may have to back track that ACC circuit to figure out where there is power and where the power stops. That would be the problem area to focus upon. If you have power at the ACC/IGN in fuse box, but not at the harness, wiring between points is suspect.

Waht HU are you using here?

PS Since the HU did work on the 12 volt Continous feed line, your HU is probably OK. Just a wire connection issue. The fuse on the HU is probably good... (if any) but the wiring from the HU back to ACC/IGN or fuse panel, may be snafu.

where did you check for fuses? Start under the dash, then behind the deck(if it is out) then under the hood. Check ALL the fuses, not just the ones you think pertain to it. Betya $20 there is a fuse somewhere....
