Replies (3) swez on 06/3/2004 11:59:40 These Bahn subs are the best SQ subs made in that era. They are 6+6 DVCs and when wired full parallel, you'll het a 1.5 ohm net load to amp. Not at all bad in the Bass Engine department. These subs are spec'd for sealed enclosures only. The range is 0.70 - 1.25 cf/sub The larger the enclosure, the deeper the bass. If you like punchy bass, shoot for 0.7 cf. A good blend of punch and deep lows would be ~1.0 - 1.2 cf/sub. That A2200HC will pull some heavy current all by itself. So electrical upgrades are definitely in the cards. My rough guess is that this amp will pull close to 150 amperes of current all by itself. Contact Audiobahn technical for details: tech@audiobahninc.com is e-mail address. As for a good 4 channel amp, why not stick with Bahn amps. You can go with a minimum of 50 RMS x 4 @ 4 ohms or jump up to a larger amp if needed. Again, current draw will be high on a 100 x 4 amp. Do you have the power handling specs on the interior speaker mentioned. Note that Bahn rates their speakers in pairs. (Ie: Bahn xxxx 6x9's, 150 watts RMS = 75 watts RMS per speaker) Finally, your power consumption from the A2200HC is very high and a decent 4 channel will pull close to 50A., if not more. Bahn techs can help you on that matter. Major electrical upgrades are pending for this install. Bahn 4 channel amps to consider: 1. http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ABNA4004T 50 x 4 watts RMS @ 4 ohms ($260.00) 2. http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ABNA4601T 75 x 4 watts RMS @ 4 ohms ($480.00) A little web shopping can lower the prices noted on these 4 channel models. Older models off E-bay are probably cheaper as well. Have a good look around. Comments? Swez skywanker on 06/3/2004 12:23:01 hi i was thinking more over to the a4125hc amplifier but i do not know if it any good for mid/high drivers. maybe the 48001t is better to do that, but what speakers should i use for those amps ? is the abf39 (250wrms pair) good enough or will it sound alot better with some good component speakers ? the AN4000 is 160 wrms pair. ill look into getting a 250 amp generator and a extra battery. i can see i need that :) ps. whats up with the bugs when editing the post ? swez on 06/3/2004 20:25:25 The A4125HCT is a pretty potent 4 channel here friend. It's 125 x 4 RMS amp @ 4 ohms/ch. Yes, it is suitable for mid/high applications and lots of power too. Personally, a pair of Components in front, and whatever you like in rear (that fits) will do a good job here. Components are generally much better than coaxial speakers as they use better crossovers and notably better components (Ie: Midbass drivers and tweeters) The tweeters can be mounted above the MB driver for better clarity and aimed to a target zone near the listeners ears. You will need that 250A. alternator and a hefty battery pack for the sub amp. Probably need 1/0 gage wire here as well and a 200A fuse at the BAT. I thought you said you wanted a good SQ system here. This will deliver both good SQ and high SPL #'s too. (both mid/highs & subs) hehe. We have a problem on the edit feature at the moment. It does not happen to all who edit... but it is annoying to say the least. Work around it by making additional thread replies for now. You should be able to cut & paste wanted data, then add additional comments as needed in the new thread. Will advise our webmaster on the issue and see if he has a fix for this one coming soon.
