www.thezeb.com has them on sale for $55. Will these be good for sq or spl? thanks Replies (10) swez on 05/30/2004 20:47:10 Bahn makes mostly SPL sub products. Depending on the enclosure and sub combo, they can do SQ OK as well. The best SQ sub made by Bahn, is the Alum series. These are 6+6 DVCs' and a bit awkward to wire properly with most amps. http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/428 The AW100Q and T are 2002 models and the price is right for low budget, good SPL applications. At under $60.00/sub, not a bad buy at all. Just note this is a SVC, 4 ohm model. Swez PS The "Q" denotes an earlier model. The "T" series is a newer model version with some design changes. 65_nova on 05/30/2004 23:37:11 So what would be the best way to wire the swez? Since they are so low, maybe my dad will let me buy a couple! Thanks for the help, Jody swez on 05/31/2004 08:35:27 "So what would be the best way to wire the swez?" Hummm, I generally don't care to be "wired" to amps. My internal impedance is high, would need a lot of power and the sounds you'll get from a wired Swez will not be so musical either. Not to mention... am very expensive to rent, much less buy... GRIN Yeah, a pair of these would net some pretty decent bass with the proper amp. They are rated at 400 RMS per sub. A pair, wired in parallel = 2 ohms net load to amp. A Class D amp is your best bet here. More bang for the buck and power efficiency is much better with Class D MONO amps than 2/4 channel models. Do you have an amp now? If so, what do you have? Swez 65_nova on 05/31/2004 16:49:50 I'm sorry about that one!!! I don't yet have an amp, but am thinking Rockford fosgate or www.justamps.com has power acoustiks on sale, so probably one of them. thank you, Jody swez on 05/31/2004 17:42:22 Hey Jody, Just being silly... I know "what" you were saying. What kind of budget # do you have in mind for the sub amp? Yes, these subs can take a lot of lower, but they can do just fine with 500-600 watts RMS. To wire them to a Class D amp, they can be run parallel for a net 2 ohm load. A perfect target zone for Class D amps. Pick a budget number and we'll give ya some good amp options. Swez 65_nova on 05/31/2004 18:37:06 www.justamps.com click on the INSANE BASE label at the top, and I was looking at the 1-PA-A1800DB model. Something a little bit cheaper wouldn't hurt though. In humor, Jody swez on 05/31/2004 21:42:51 That amp will work. Not a big fan of Power Acoustik products, but this amp seems to have the power, features and a low price too. Also, look at same site... Kole Audio's Q1-2400D. Same price, similar features but maybe a bit better amp for the price. It's a toss up. http://www.justamps.com/Amp_Pages/kole/kole_Q.htm Swez :-) 65_nova on 05/31/2004 22:59:26 Swez, I'm Getting The Subs!!! Woo Hoo! yeah! Thanks for everything! PS, I'll look into the Kole amp Jody swez on 06/1/2004 09:32:09 What happened with Dad? Did he change his mind because you changed budget numbers??? CLAP Yes, look at that Kole amp, Swez 65_nova on 06/1/2004 17:18:10 I'm thinking it was a combination of that and me just weathering him down. (i will look into the amp) Thanks swez, Jody Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
