What can i do for cheap to make it sound better. uochronos on 05/29/2004 03:19:05 can we get model numbers on the sub, amp and head unit? we cant help alot without that. swez on 05/29/2004 09:25:12 I don't believe Sony Xplode subs come in any other flavor than 4 ohm, single coil subs. To get the most from these subs, a 2nd amp (MONO Class D) that can handle 2 ohm loads is your best choice. Depending on your interior speakers, can use the 4 channel for interior speaker amping and add a real sub amp for some potent lows. Something like the JBL BP 300.1 or BP-600.1 will do the job, depending on how much boom and cash you have to play with. May have to do some real digging off e-bay for these amps and should expect to pay ~$130.00/200.00 respectively for either amp. The 300.1 delivers 300+ RMS @ 1 or 2 ohm loads. The 600.1 is twice that. Current draw is <30/60A respectively for this series. Right now, your subs are probably getting less than 75 watts RMS each off the rear channels. If you bridged this amp down to a 2 channel amp for subs only, one sub per channel, this would net about 150 watts RMS per sub. If this amp has Low Pass Filters on F&R channels, can do this just fine. Some 4 channels only have High pass on front channels and HP/LP on rear channels. An amp model number would help a lot, Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
