Well, i plan on putting in a JL system this summer but today my dad said his friend has car audio equipment new in the box that he would give me for free. Well free stuff is always good so i thought i might use the equipment he has until i can get the JL system. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the stuff he has and if its any good. The information on the equipment is as follows: soundstream 5 channel amp in not sure what model but he said is does around 35x4 + 100x1, a pair of Orion HCCA 6S component speakers, and two Onkyo 2ohm 10" subs. Any information on this equipment would be great.

looks to be a bit older gear but good gear none the less assuming its all be kept out of the elements. i would say that for free you have quite a decent little system

that is a pretty sweet amp to be honest. And the componants will not be too bad either, make sure they have the crossovers with them. I am not sure about the subs. I love onkyo and own a dtx-6 home reciever but I am not familiar with their subs. Regardless it is a good start........

Hey, anything from SoundStream in good condition is worth something, even if only for trading material later. This is vintage gear and SS over builds most gear they make... a fine collectors item at the very least.

You can use this amp as a 5 channel, (4 interior and 1 sub channel) or bridge to a 3 channel version that gives more power to the internal speakers. (Left = front bridged, right = Rear bridged & sub amp)
The manual explains the configuration schemes. However, when bridged, this amp will needs a 4 ohm load. Your HCCA 6's are 2 ohms, so you may be limited to using this only in 5 channel mode.
