Okay the whole set up I want to do I already have the eqipment. It is in an 86 Ford PU.I have a Jensen HU with 45w x 4 output. But it has no LO.It has Aux inputs.I have front speakers straight to 6.5 I believe 2 or three way speakers in doors. Then thru HO to a Jensen 200w amp to 2 Pioneer 150w truck box speakers with a small unpowered sub between them(not hooked up).I bought a alpine 3217 EQ which has LO in and out and I want to hook it up .The diagram is the first one under EQ on the alpine link you sent me.Problem is they said not to hook to more than 6 watt max input. So a friend gave me a box that goes HO to LO and has adjustment screws to limit output.Basically I'm just trying to add eq to this system with older stuff and not spending any more cash. Thanks Ian

Ian,

Yes, that should work if you have variable output controls on the LOC. Here's a basic block diagram to guide you in the install.

HU........> LOC......>EQ inputs......>EQ outputs to amps.....>to speakers and subs.

The HU amps in this Jensen are more like 18-20 watts RMS per channel. You can run the front speakers off the front HU channels for now and feed the rear channel speaker feeds to LOC, EQ and amp/subs.

If you really want to take full advantage of the EQ, best to run it off HU front channels to LOC, then input to a modest 2 channel amp for front stage speakers.

How many input & output RCA's are avaiable on this EQ? Also, What are are the # of bands on EQ and what values are they per band?
