just for kicks, i wonder if it would be possible to build an enclosure with a fan built into it, so as to blow air throughout the chamber, to help cool the voice coil..not even sure that would matter, but i was curious...just kinda popped into my head...any input? If you added a fan to do more, it would act like a non-tuned port and give you some strange effects on the fan. This "is" a silly question... first one I've seen in a while too. GRIN Swez Tinker18 on 05/20/2004 20:00:31 well glad to be service in that department swez....notorious for silly questions..so i dont surprise myself much anymore. but it was something that i had thought about before, but had never seen, so i was curious as to why.....turns out there is actually a reason.... swez on 05/20/2004 20:21:45 Well, worth asking the question as there is no such thing as a "dumb question" here.. (at least not yet) but yeah, even with the fan off, the internal air pressure the subs create, may cause some very strange noises from the fan off or on. Lots of air turbulance in the box when the subs are pounding away.Plenty to cool most subs when they are moving. Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
