Replies (3) uochronos on 05/19/2004 01:57:16 this amplifier would be grossly under powering that sub. your sub needs 400watts of power at 2 ohms. that amplifier only puts out 200watts at 2 ohms. i well do a bit of looking and see if i can find a 400watt for under 100$ uochronos on 05/19/2004 02:12:40 best i could find was at www.partsexpress.com was a ma audio amp 400watts rms to 1 channel at 2 ohm. its 189$ with a bit of shopping you might be able to get it down a bit. but i cant see finding a mono amp with 300-400watts of power for less then 150$ swez on 05/19/2004 20:57:29 That sub is decent enough, but to get the most from it, a MONO amp is your best bet. Something that will deliver 400 RMS @ 2 ohms is your target. Even if the amp were a tad larger or smaller in power, still OK. A 2 channel amp will work, but you cannot bridge most 2 channel amps below a 4 ohm load unless it is a High Current (HC) amp. The JBL 300.1 will deliver >300RMS @ 2 ohms, but hard to find them at a decent price now. Do you have a budget max in mind? Swez Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
