i just installed my cd deck in my piece of crap 90 dodge spirit. the radio works fine and the cd player will work fine if i play it on the lowest volume setting, if i try turning the volume up it will shut off then it will turn on again in a few seconds and then it will keep doing this. did i wire it wrong or is it because of the factory amp? Replies (4) ttocs on 05/14/2004 02:13:49 if it does it on cd only and not on radio, that is strange.. If it was because of a factory amp it would not matter what source was playing. What kind of deck? JustinG84 on 05/14/2004 03:32:53 SONY XPLOD CDX-700X. and i just tested it today both the radio and the cd player power off the deck if the volume is too high. also when i put on my headlights it will power off then too. im pretty new at this but i dont think its a wireing problem cause i pretty much just matched the colors when i wired it. im thinking maybe the alternator cant handle the power that the cd deck needs. ttocs on 05/14/2004 09:25:16 you bought an aftermarket hrns, and then matched the wire colors? Or you cut the factory hrns, and then matched the colors? Sounds like you wired into the illumination wire either way. This wire will rest at ground, and then when the lights are turned on it has +8 to 12 volts on it. Check your ground. The factory ground will be a braided silver cable with no insulation on it.... JustinG84 on 05/14/2004 12:46:35 i will check that out. thank you very much Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
