ok this question is mainly for ttocs or kittle but anyone feel free to help. i have a 2003 ranger FX4 extended cab 4 door. and i now have a phoeni gold 500.2 tantrum and a 1200.2 avionixx amp. and i want to mount them somewhere. what would you guys suggest? i dont believe there is room for them under the seats but i'm unsure. so if either of you guys have other installed amps in a ranger before which i wiould assume you probaly hyave then where did you mount the amp. since i couldnt think of where to put it i was thinking of doing as follows. first off my sub box well be mountd where the jump seat currently is behind the driver seat.so i was thinking mattering which way i end up pointing the sub up or to the front i could build amp rack and mount them above it or to the side. bu if i can fit these under the seats or somewhere else i'm not thinking then i would rather do that instead of going to all the hassle of building racks for them

Not sure how much your rear section is compared to an F-150 Crew, but my friend and I notched the passenger side foot bracket enough to mount 2 large DSL amps and tucked it under the rear passenger seat. It came out beautifully too.

He now has a 12" Brahma sub, mounted behind the driver's seat and facing the rear of the driver's seat. It sounds awesome too. I think he has some pics of various intalls on SD website.

f 150's have a rear seat though rangers just have the fold down jump seats:( i think i may have founda way to mount them and conseal them and still keep one jump seat usable. but like i said if anyone has done a ranger i would be nice to know of some spots to mount them.i did do some looking under the front seats it has a lump in the floor right in the middle of each seat so i cant mount there. unfortunatly

have I done a ranger.....................

I have owned only 2 vehicles, both rangers('91 regular cab and '97 extended), and I came from the midwest....

I have not seen too much of the new ones however. I was planning on putting a sub in one of my jumpseats, however I don't have doors in the back to work around. If you want to get a little fancy, you could try to do what I am trying to do. I removed the rear panel that holds the cargo net. That piece sets out a good 3 - 4 inches from the rear metal panel. if you do it right you could probably flush one of the amps there, maybe two if you work it. I am putting my PG octane and some other misc dist block and x-overs there if I ever get some shop time to myself.........

you mean put it in behind there and then put the panel back on over it? and if i drilled to mount there wouldnt it go all the way threw to the outside of thetruck? this seems like a good idea though i like it alot.

I removed the cover completly and was/is in the process of builing a new one. A simple one would not be a big deal. I am adding a few additional touches to the finish(hopefully) to dess it up a bit. The screw will go to the outside of the truck but not in a noticable place.

I am going a little farther in that I am going all the way through the cab to the bed with a twin box design.

The outer box will be fiberglass and act as a cover for the inner box that has a steel frame that will be a receiver frame for a mdf box.

Have worked out most of the technicals except time and money.
I know you dont want to cut your truck up chronus but just thought I would share for what ever reason.

ya that is a cool design i have plenty of room for my box though just wanted to hide the amps i may just build amp rack for them and mount one to the sub box and one under the second jump seat
