HELP!!!!!!!!! i just installed a sony CDXM8800 receiver into a 2003 honda element and i dont get sound!!!!!!!! it's powered up but now music!!! what happened?

ok there are multiple cuases to this problem lets narrow it down a bit.
the reciver is recieveing power?
all the speaker wires are hooked corectly?
is this a new or used reciever? if used did ti work in last car?
also this car could have a factory amp for the speakers and this could cause this problem ttocs or kittle well be able to awnser that when they respond.
