i was looking theough a site, looking at mobile video, thinking about it, but i kept coming back around to, it would get stolen. so i was thinking, is there anyway i could mount the monitor..like a 7.5 inch screen in my glove box, (after putting a backing board on the interior of it), and then buy a dvd player and put it under my seat. The only problem with this idea is, i can't think of a way, to mount the monitor flat on the board. there are no screw holes or anything. if any of you have any idea, i'd be more than happy to hear them, especially if you have mobil video in your vehicle, and can give me some info about ti. thanx-KP Replies (11) uochronos on 05/3/2004 21:08:13 i would think most veideo screens come with mounting brackets at car toys by my house they have all there display screens mounted to the walls flat using the bracketing that came with it... at least thats what they said... ttocs and kittle would probaly have alot of of experience mounting these or at elast some ttocs on 05/4/2004 12:11:35 why not do a drop down? Tinker18 on 05/4/2004 14:13:24 cuz you can rip it off pretty easily, and i dont want anyone to be able to look into my truck and see anything worth stealing, plus its not for me anyway, just my passengers, so far ive managed to keep everything hidden from view, the only thing you can partially see is my subs, and you'd have to look kinda hard to see them. i want to keep the screen hidden too, so i need a way to mount it flat,....i thought about buying a headrest mount, and the using some "c" fasteners on the rods to hold it, but i dotn want it to look like that if it doesnt have to, another reason i dont want a drop down is all the wirin, it will be easier to wire it into my glove compartment. thanks.br cplkittle on 05/4/2004 15:20:49 get an in dash dvd/cd retractable screen player. An alarm system should be your first consideration when planning to spend over $1000 in one pop. ttocs on 05/4/2004 15:24:20 how often have you looked at other cars ceilings? Tinker18 on 05/4/2004 15:26:10 lol, granted, but theives would notice it, i guarentee you. and i cant get an in dash, 1)i dont want to cut my dash...that stated, i drive a 93 chevy pu single cab. i onyl have one spot with an in dash area, and my radio is in it. any ideas on how to mount it?br Raefin on 05/4/2004 20:40:28 I think he meant a HU with a monitor in it. Where the monitor actually flips out of the HU itself. Pioneer, Alpine, Eclipse, Kenwood, and now Sony all make some. Tinker18 on 05/4/2004 21:34:59 even so, i want the detachable face, for theft deterence, so i would not go that route anyway Raefin on 05/5/2004 08:41:06 Some of them have the detachable face. They may take the deck but if you have the face there is no way they can do anything with it. Check out the Pioneer 7500DVD link I threw up there and you will see what I mean. Tinker18 on 05/5/2004 15:09:23 i dont have 2700 bucks to shell out though.
