my 8 ga. power wire originally had a 40 amp fuse in it, it broke, so i had to replace it, all i had on hand at the time was a 30 amp fuse, my amp has two 25 amp fuses in it, since my power wire is has only a 30 amp fuse in it, is it by any chance cutting down on the power to my amp?

it is not cutting pwr down until it blows, and it will probably blow. Keep it in there until ya get another, or blow it.

You are right at the edge of #8 gage wire current range. If your power wire is <10' long... good enough. But if 15' or longer, plan on upgrading to #2 gage power line ASAP.

If amp draws slightly more than 30A., for a few seconds, the fuse should hold. If a heavy, sustained load of >30A., the fuse will blow. Get some 40A fuses soon and just go easy on your subs.
