I am looking to replace my front 2 speakers in my '97 Audi A4 along with the two tweeters in my front as well. I currently have 2 Kicker L7's in the back and Bose speakers that are working well in the back. I was wondering what type of 4" compenent systems people recommend for a medium price. I am looking to spend 400 total including purchasing an amp so probably 250 on speakers. What would you recommend?

The CDT line is very high quality gear... but they are not cheap unless you shop them hard. Same can be said for Diamond, Focal, and better Apline Comps.

If you need to watch your pennies, consider JBL, Infinity, Alpine type SWR or SWS. A goodle search will give you some reviews and comments on each and links to price ranges.

Finally, a 4" woofer will not deliver much bass. These will need to be crossed over at 100 Hz or higher, depending on the brand and power ratings. The low bass will come from your subs, while midbass can be supplied by the rear speakers.

PS Is this a Bose system you have now? Most likely, this is amped and the speakers are mated to optimize audio per Bose system design. Many will usually yank out/bypass, the Bose gear and start fresh. Most aftermarket speakers don't sound right with Bose amped systems. Bose designed their system to be incompatible with most aftermarket gear.

Me again...I know that is probably the reason why my front two speakers don't put out much power right now because when my subwoofers were installed they had to bypass my speakers to put in my headunit.

I would be buying a new amp for the speakers.

I would not use the factory Audi one. Is this possible and is there a way to turn off all the bass on the speakers so that I can have them solely for treble?
Since i have 2 10" kicker l7's right now.

Yes... this will work for aftermarket HU/Amps and speakers.

Most better 2/4 channel amps have variable high pass (HP) crossovers to filter out the lows to front and reach speakers. A little experimentation will tell you the best place to set the HP crossovers.

Suggested setting to start out:

Front speakers: HP filter settings 100-250 Hz pass range
Rear speakers: 60-100 Hz pass range
Subs: ~80 Hz and down, using a LP filter on amp

You may have to tweak a bit to get full range performance at reasonable SPL. The bass can easily dominate your system, depending on amp power used for each stage of the system. (Ie. front, rear and subs)
