im trying to install an alpine cd receiver into a 2004 chevy tahoe. i bought the hardness but the guy in the shop told me that i needed to get the ingnition wire out of the fuse box. that no hardness for newer vehicles have that included. is that true? please let me know how to do it. thank you.

Hang in there man.There are some install professionals here that can help you ,just be patient.
Tell us a little about your Tahoe.
Does it have the On Star system?
Do you have the Delphi premium sound system?
Have you done any Hu(Head unit) installs before?
Im sorry I cant help as I have no experience with newer vehicles but our resident installers ttocs,cplkittle and a few others can fix you up.
Any additional information you have would be helpful.

onstar would be the only real issue to bypass. There is a little more involved with the wiring but the dash dis-assemble is easy.
